Amazingly Padam sold 11,595 for 71 in charts :cheer: :cheer: on week 16. 6,022 though with the ACR included

So over the moon with this result. I genuinely thought 'Padam' would be a fluke so this is beyond my wildest dreams.

Even if it does get no higher, I'm satisfied.

Best selling single of the week

4690 CDs!!!!!!! Nice

2326 downloads (i did say this would be a lot lower than PP)

Number 1

Physicals Chart

CD Chart

Download Chart

3rd single really needs to have 59p downloads from the get go, £1.99 cassettes and 99p CD singles lol, even if P&P is still expensive. BMG you know you can get her hits now.

All of this!

I’m over the moon she’s managed to shift nearly 5k physicals - mammoth amount without any quirks of being 99p and free delivery.

Hopefully the cassettes give it at least 1.5k physical sales next week too.

2 Kylie songs in the top 75 on the same week. Amazing.

Padam Padam 16 weeks top 75 is crazy.

Ya seeing her get a 2nd top 20 hit this year is just brilliant as none of thought it would ever happen again. It will be interesting to see if other artists will use the same strategy to yry and turn around their singles chart fortunes. It would work I think for acts like Take That, Westlife Madonna Robbie Williams etc.

up to 122 on Amazon Music UK. Nice.

Apple and Amazon really solidified Padam Padam Streams.

Spotify had a wave of higher positions but i think many of Spotify streams for all artists are not at the premium ratio.

If we see a continued Amazon stremaing increase, plus the cassettes cleverly released on Tuesday giving BMG enough time to see if they need to release another mix on Weds/Thurs to get the extra downloads to keep Tension top 40 ?

Excellent result!! Naything higher would need to be a duet, so I'm pleased with what shw's managed!
Bonkers if you think even without all those CDs she still would have been top 30!!!!!!

Thrilled with this debuting Top 20! First album of Kylie's to house two Top 20 hits since 'Aphrodite' and the first for a woman over 50 since Cher's 'Believe' in 1998/9! :o

Not been very active in the last week so not yet commented on the song/video. It's so good to finally have it officially after listening to the leak for the past few weeks. I adore the house influences and that shape-shifting sound that recalls what Girls Aloud/Xenomania did best. I'm so pleased they decided on having this as the second single; it feels so forward-thinking, edgy and confident in a way Kylie singles haven't for a long time (as good as they have been!). Perhaps more so than 'Padam Padam'.

The video isn't quite what I had in mind and a part of me wishes they had opted for something less camp, but I do enjoy it for what it is. Black Kylie vs. Pink Kylie reminds me a lot of Indie Kylie vs. Cute Kylie in the 'Did It Again' video and it's fun to see those scenes play out. I feel like there's some deeper meaning with the video; Kylie walking in all innocent with the hat reminds me a lot of PWL Kylie, is the video meant to resemble her taking control of her image and sexuality?

I'm sure 'Tension' will rack up a few more weeks in the Top 40 thanks to the cassettes this week and the boost from the album release so, even though I'd love for lightning to strike twice and this become a hit in the same way 'Padam Padam' did, I'm more than happy with how this has done.

The BMG chart history - it makes it even more iconic that she’s scored two back to back hits

Dancing #38

Stop Me From Falling #52

Golden #DNC

A Lifetime To Repair #DNC

Music’s Too Sad Without You #DNC

Sincerely Yours #DNC

New York City #DNC

Say Something #56

Magic #53

Real Groove #95

A Second To Midnight #DNC

Kiss Of Life #DNC

Padam Padam #8

Tension #19

Now they need to go with a feature / special single mix for single #3 :P

ABBA used this tactic to get a Top 10 hit a couple of years ago and the Rolling Stones are using it this week.

I think selling 2x CD singles in the bundle probably helped somewhat, but bravo BMG! :cheer:

Yeah the last time Madonna had two Top 20s from the same album is 4 Minutes (#1) and Give It 2 Me (#7) from Hard Candy, she was 49 years old during the release of both of those singles. Prior to Popular this year peaking at #11, her only Top 20 since the Hard Candy era was Celebration in 2009, going to #3 when she was 51.

2010s really was the turning point for older female artists no longer being chart forces. :( So it’s been thrilling that Kylie has proved that age should not be a factor in holding artists back from achieving hits.
