My CD singles have just arrived (all 6 of them) :cheer:

Even though I’d prefer jewel cases at least they’ve gone to the effort of each disc having a different design as well as the cover.

Mine arrived yesterday! Love them

I am hoping she will sell another 200 CDs this week and hopefully 1.5-2k of cassettes

https://shop.leigh-anneofficial.com/gb/

Leigh-Anne with 3 CDs for £3.97 + P&p free. Plus a bonus track. Thats hows to do it. I know BMG are not looking to make a loss, but there is still some work to be done to get some very easy increases in chart positions if they wanted.

It backfired on Leigh-Anne last time though tbh - yes she got to #11 but it spent 1 week in the Top 40 and hasn’t helped establish her as a solo artist, I think them repeating the same tactic this time will get the same results.

I can’t see BMG ever going below the £1.99 CD singles plus postage - they sold almost 5k this way and achieved a Top 20, they don’t need to give them away to sell them.

backfired but would have been worse lol if she didnt get those positions haha.

yep not saying they need to do it, just they have the ability too, but we know its about costs and profit for Kylie and BMG. The bigger record companies can take the hit on costs a lot easier

I know what you mean hun but I dont think BMG are here to lose money on a higher chart position.

They gave a pack of 2 CDs, maybe they could do a pack of 3 physicals at launch next time to help with postage costs but I cant see them going to £4 for 3 physicals hun plus free p and p. And they shouldnt.

They are happy to sell the physicals to help with chart positions but also to make money.

Is aleanna with a major record company huns?

Padam Padam 35 & 72 on UK Itunes, Tension 19. Unless they reduce the price of Tension to 59p we could see PP overtake on Itunes lol and sell more downloads on week 17 than Tension on week 2 lol

Yeah they need to drop the price to 59p to help with the stability for this week hun

The good thing is we are just trying to get Tension some stability top 40 which will take 10-11k of sales across everything, whereas we were trying to get PP top 10 and 20 and battling to get 25k sales per week.

Tension will definitely not be in Sundays first look and will drop down quite a bit on Big top 40. Will be interesting to see where it is on Mondays midweeks, maybe on the cusp of the top 40 and then get a boost with some cassettes and maybe a store exclusive download.

I’m actually not sure they’ll be bothered to reduce Tension on iTunes!

BMG are about profit, and Padam is the marketing cow of this era. Not sure they want to have more profit losses in exchange for a higher visibility in the sales charts.

And we already got CDs at a reduced profitability anyway, along with a very healthy peak. Now if it doesn’t take off on streaming, they may prefer a number 49 with 99p on iTunes to 46 with 59p there.

Exactly - and I keep saying this; getting a flash-in-the-pan high position in week one says nothing about a track being a "hit" or not. Personally, I think Leigh-Anne would've done better in the long run if she had held off on physicals to week two since she would've had a climb (streaming was okay-ish but not mega-strong); it might've incouraged a bit more radio and curiousity plays. We all know Kylie could probably manipulate herself into getting high positions by a thousand formats tossed out on week one - it's longevity that matters. The fact that Tension would've gone top 40 on streaming alone is very promising.

With the whole 59p thing (again, I’m always surprised that in such a declining download market a 40p reduction makes much of a difference apart from increased visibility on the iTunes Charts which again counts for little if people are not using it), they may be saving it for album release week.

They’ve given us 2 x CDs and a cassette to get it and try and keep it in the Top 40, album release week a 59p reduction along with album streams could see it benefit along with a potential PP reset - a much bigger splash for the album if it enters at #1 along with 2 singles climbing back up the charts.

I hope Jay and Liam and Dawid can help with this

Could we have the first week Spotify Streams of all the tracks on Disco on release week? Just wondering what can we maybe expect for Padam Padam and Tension on album release week

310,318 streams on Spotify yesterday, it’s on a downward trend now, so sadly Spotify will be unlikely to add it to anymore playlists.

We would need a miracle to get it on Hot Hits at this point

Ah well, it’s got a great peak. Longevity would have been nice but songs generally don’t build like Padam did. We should just be over the moon that instead of debuting at #50 something we got a #19 - her best performing second single since 2010!

I said it from the start - I literally don’t care if this goes 19-64-out, the fact she’s achieved a 2nd Top 20 whilst gaining Capital and Kiss support along with her streaming being bigger than ever by her standards then it’s a massive achievement all round.

I’d love multiple long running hits but if she can achieve that with a lead and then follow up with some decent peaks I’m all for it.

It's doing OK, it's got remixes, physicals, album streams to come, then can keep it going nicely. Its only just been playlisted on radios too.

Padam is hanging around nicely too.

Fans have to stream them too though

Like I said we are not necessarily looking for huge numbers to go top 10, just enough to add up together to keep in the charts for multiple weeks.

I don't think it's over over yet for this one anyway! We'll have the album release, and even if it is a sleeper hit on 200-300k Spotify streams per day, it is still more than good!

I shall have a look when I’m on my laptop unless someone gets there before me!
