Friday is getting harder to predict, im starting to think she wont go top 15 and will be 17 or 18 but a 2nd top 20 hit id be very happy with. Back when the Disco and Golden singles were released our dream was getting the lead into the top 40.

Tension down to 24 in the Itunes Global Chart after 6 days

 

Padam Padam sits just outside the top 50 after 110 days

I feel like some are already writing off Tension as a one week wonder, but I think this is a premature reaction and that we should at least wait and see whether she gets a Hot Hits UK add first. Padam Padam still hadn’t been added at this stage.

 

Even though it fell out of the UK Spotify Top 200, as mentioned elsewhere its worldwide streams did increase from 408,379 to 422,758. When it was #188 on Day 4 in the UK, its streams were 65,285. Not Top 200 the day after, and the #200 song did 65,030. So while that confirms that Tension’s UK streams decreased, there’s every chance that it’s only just outside of the UK Top 200. We shouldn’t interpret it exiting the Top 200 as a collapse or that it’s done for. It really is a case of let’s wait and see.

I dont think BMG are giving up and I think theres still the radio edit to drop on kylie.com/itunes and extended version on i tunes and Kylie.com. both of which will convert into a couple of thousands of digital sales. Plus they will both help with streams.

 

Also the drop to 59p will give it a slight booost.

 

We have a potential cassette or vinyl.

 

Also we have the album release week which should add streams and itunes downloads on that week for both Padam and Tension.

 

Plus theres the album promo which will give Tension and Padam a bit of a boost.

 

It isnt going to be a number 1 song but I think it will have some sort of top 40 chart life beyond just 1 week.

 

Lets do our bit and stream stream stream and download from all the usual websites so we can get it a great debut.

Do we know what Kylie sold for 21 in yesterday's mids. I know number 5 was on 17k. She would be on 7k for 21? So if we add 3k minimum CDs

If we're using potentially 5k as a marker, last week the difference between #15 and #21 was exactly 5,000 copies. But of course there are a lot of variables (sales gaps being different, her probably being lower than #21 on Friday without the CDs, not actually knowing how many CDs she's shifted)

 

Hoping an update today can give us a clearer picture.

Being top of and on cover of Massive Dance Hits was a big turning point for Padam Padam on Spotify. That's a very influential playlist

No matter what happens, Kylie is going to get her first top 20 hit as a songwriter since 2018. I think that's an achievement in its own right considering the SAW people thought she didn't make a good writer.

Well the Tension CD single is still available. I am not sure if thats a good thing or bad thing. It would be a good thing if the reason theu are still avail huns is due to a higher print. It would be bad if they are still avail due to lower up take as I dont want them to stop doing the CD singles as I am loving them huns.
