Now at the final yearly round and the first year of the decade we have 2000, the year when garage stepped to the forefront of dance music whilst house and trance were still dominant. Artful Dodger, Sweet Female Attitude, Sonique and Truesteppers brought garage to the top of the charts whilst Bomfunk MC's gave us a rare drum n' bass hit. House was represented by Black Legend, Madison Avenue, Modjo and Spiller and it was a particularly big year for trance, with hits from Chicane, Darude, Fragma, Melanie C & Hex Hector, Public Domain and Zombie Nation making the year end list.

 

Nominations list expanded to 40 for this last time as 2000 had a ton of dance hits unlike any other year.

A big win for Roger Sanchez here perhaps unsurprisingly as he had a load of top scores. Other big faves from Ian Van Dahl, Rui da Silva and PPK qualify again as they did half a decade ago when this was last run.
