August 27, 20231 yr Yay for Suedeonia! Suede mentioned on SyncTube earlier that he was predicted through by everyone who did predictions but I was still a little worried for that one, could imagine it being one that got lots of smaller points but maybe not enough of the higher ones - very glad the predictors were correct though. Wholune's is much better than the last 2 Lindsey Stirling entries, though 'Crystallize' remains leagues ahead - still a good qualifier though. Summericia and Hendinia both left until last, 2 more double digit qualification streaks on the line... (rooting for both to take the final slots though and I'd be rather shocked if Hendinia don't) Oh Suedey will be happy that he's qualified - he was saying earlier that he never usually gets such constant Q predix so it would have been sad if they didn't translate He is very pleased :D
August 27, 20231 yr Omg not all my votes except Tartford (2pts) making it thru (imma need more taste when it comes to that one!! deserved better) So pleased for Theweekendton getting their first qualifier!! Should've happened already bc they've had some quality entries Eh that's about all I have to say but ty pestolia voters!! okayyyy
August 27, 20231 yr Omg Bulgarian Cartrader was my favourite entry of the year that I sent and also my first DNQ after a string of Qs  :weep: oh well, good luck in the finals!
August 27, 20231 yr I will say this tho. I'm not surprised. I mean, I remember really loving my whole top 10 this time and wanting to vote for like 6 other songs (which I think all made it through?) + having 5-7 other songs that I would have considered voting for in a weaker contest. This includes countries that I would never consider voting for normally, so yeah everyone kinda brought something haha. I will gladly take 23 points - I usually get a lot less when I end last! TY to Kath for hosting, the angry dnq gifs were very funny ^_^
August 28, 20231 yr Thanks for the few votes/support for my entry! 'Daily News' is my favorite entry of the year so far, so I don't regret sending it, but the semi draw never looked promising. :( Maybe in a different contest it could've gone through. I'm more disappointed that East Ruk didn't qualify, 'Get Lost' was a great song! The rest of my votes qualified though, so decent results overall. Looking forward to hearing the semi 2 qualifiers. Thanks Kath for hosting! Edit: wow, I just read through the predictions...and very glad Ojnoj and Danaeviia defied them!
August 28, 20231 yr Well that was a tense catching up process! Relieved to make it though, really thought it was being built up to my streak finally ending.
August 29, 20231 yr Wow, myself and all 10 of my votes got through. Might be the first time that's ever happened? (Or second?) Good stuff all! Edited August 29, 20231 yr by Dobbo
August 30, 20231 yr Many thanks Kath for the fabness, and many thanks to all supporters of Corinne for the votes and comments - I'll be honest I think it's 2 minutes of powerpop-punk perfection and the notion (Hi bre! :D ) that is was too short is not a concept I can relate to! It's perfect, says what it has to say and finishes*, leaving me wanting to play it again immediately for 6 weeks or so now :yahoo: Now, "too long" is very much a concept I have sympathy for, sometimes judicious editing of 5 minutes or so is called for. And that can include some tracks of 4 minutes running time... :teresa:  Plus side, 9 of our 10 faves made it through, bar poor old Bronzil and the one that just missed our votes, Ingermanlandia. (* it's about a 50's stylish woman, based around a photo)
September 4, 20231 yr Better late than never  Qualification streak update (underlined nations have matched or beaten their longest streak to date, streaks that are longer when counting nonconsecutive participations ('broken streaks') are in italics where applicable): 01 37 Hendinia (broken streak: 42) 02 26 Cor Lupus 03 23 Cumulonimbia 04 22 Summericia 05 20 Altyr Muunilinst 06 12 Jadakissnia 07 6 Bøtanikkä 08 5 Kathaldazia 08 5 St. Burbia 10 4 Aesthetica 10 4 Dobago 10 4 Ojnoj (broken streak: 5) 10 4 Quintessa 14 3 Beaverdonia 14 3 Greenfroze 14 3 Skall 14 3 Yehesi 14 3 Zanmatony 19 2 Aeroche 19 2 Cadelicia (broken streak: 4) 19 2 Danæviia 19 2 Ramrynia (broken streak: 5) 19 2 Rolloland 19 2 Sovarasma 19 2 Thelonia (broken streak: 4) 19 2 Wholune 27 1 Abeltesfayeton 27 1 Aelandor 27 1 Fljótavík 27 1 Kluminican Republic 27 1 Land of DW 27 1 New Lexico 27 1 Oslol 27 1 Persephonia 27 1 Pestolia 27 1 POPHub 27 1 Scotland 2 27 1 Séyetana 27 1 Suedeonia 27 1 Terra Avium 27 1 Ultraviolenceland 27 1 Yobnedorica xx (8) FSR Rontvia xx (7) Lotunia xx (7) République d'Áskorza xx (5) Ingermanlandia xx (5) Singerpurear xx (5) The Spodic Empire * xx (4) Lookylion xx (3) Bronzil xx (3) FARC xx (2) Neliönoir xx (2) Trifoski xx (1) Ben's Sanctuary * xx (1) Harmonica xx (1) Hushkanukia * xx (1) Maple Ridge xx (1) Republic of Adonia * did not enter this contest so may resume a broken streak in the future Hendinia's national record surpasses Aeroche's so they now have the sole 2nd longest qualification streak, and their broken streak of 42 now matches the consecutive record set by FSR Rontvia, so if (when) Hendinia's next entry qualifies it'll officially be the first time ever that a country has had 43 consecutive entries appear in a final! Not much else going on with national records, Cumulonimbia and Summericia both continue to expand their records, while Abeltesfayeton hope to start their first streak as they're on the board for the first time after DNQing with each of their first 3 entries. The Spodic Empire unfortunately tanked their opening run by not entering this month so we shall never know how long they could have kept it going (although they can still expand their initial broken streak should they see fit to return again in the future). Altyr Muunilinst make it a top 5 who have made every final for 2 years straight again, while Jadakissnia are left stranded as the only country with a streak anywhere from 7 to 19. The number of countries who have appeared in every final of the year so far drops from 9 to just 6 as FSR Rontvia, Lotunia and République d'Áskorza all faltered for the first time in the year.
September 4, 20231 yr Expecting a monster entry from Hendinia next time around to seal the deal. I'm happy to lose the record because their run has been absolutely astonishing. Most of the time they're nowhere near the drop zone in the semi either whereas I had quite a few close scrapes in my imperial phase. Shame that French Tips was 21st in the semi and ended our run for the year, but I got extremely lucky with FIZZ last month just scraping in, so my luck was due to fall on the other side of the coin soon enough.
