Love Story.

I missed her early country days. Last releases are not for me.

Such a bop!

Do you not like 'Would've, Could've, Should've' or even 'betty' from 'folklore'? They're the closest you'll get to Country-Pop Taylor currently!

017. Style

#17 sees a pop classic! Style was the 3rd single from '1989' and it really showed a more "mature" side to Taylor for the era after 'Shake It Off' and 'Blank Space' were both a lot more playful and cheeky in different ways. The production on this track is just *chef's kiss*! The MELODY of the chorus is BLISS! The broken-worded delivery of the chorus is just... ugh. SO GOOD! Pop perfection! Just everything about this is so dreamy and punchy!

018. You're On Your Own, Kid

Up next we have one of her most tragically beautiful songs. You're On Your Own, Kid is a heart breaking, self reflective song where Taylor sings about searching for friendship and yearns for affection whilst grasping onto social capital and societal beauty standards. Delivering one of the most personal and devastating bridges/final choruses we have had from her to date. I love the way this song just builds and builds as it really helps sell the story she is telling us and makes us feel like we're reliving her story with her from the start all over again. One of her best written songs, imo.

It's so hard not to sing it every time! Worse when you're trying to write it! Incredible song

015. The Last Time (feat. Gary Lightbody)

In at #15 we have her most underrated single. The Last Time features the frontman of Snow Patrol, Gary Lightbody. I love how well their voices gel together. It brings such a warm and beautiful contrast. I love the mellowed out pop rock vibe of this and I think it suits her so, SO much. It's very underrated and kinda annoying how it never gets the recognition or appreciation it deserves. The extra strings in TV are just sublime. I love it so much! I will be the first one to fight for this song, idc!!

016. The Archer

The Archer is the next song to leave. When this was released as an instant grat/promo single, I just remember being taken aback by how different it was not only in comparison to both 'ME!' and 'You Need To Calm Down', but for her in general. The haunting and eerie effect on her vocals are stunning. The production is so minimal but entrancing. It's just a stunning and beautiful song and I like to think it's the catalyst/blueprint for her delving further and giving us 'exile', 'epiphany' & 'Labyrinth'.

Omg HELP how did I miss so much?!?!

81-85: you were correct about 85 being a filler xx Ngl I was expecting that about 50 places higher here so at least its out earlier than I expected! the rest of the section slaps tho, TLGAD is my fave there & even tho there's a couple of slight differences, I'm mostly fine with the IKYWTTV!

80-76: Cornelia Street is such a career highlight, I can't get enough of it <3 Starlight also incredible. Love the other 3 even tho those ones wouldn't make my top 100

75-71: All good but not sure would have any in my top 100! Paper Rings is my fave of the 5

70-66: two classic singles and other great tracks, I approve x

65-61: I think you might be the only person in existence with only the young in their top 100 x it is cute and lowkey underrated tho. Don't Blame Me :cheeseblock: Sparks Fly <3

60-56: Been loving Miss Americana recently for the reason you put in spoiler, idk what crack she put in Gold Rush/Mirrorball but I love their production styles so much, and yess its nice having another I Know Places stan, one of her most underrated songs! <3

55-51: One of my fave sections yet! EO is the weaker of the THG tracks but still is great, my tears ricochet and daylight are stunning, I think he knows is a bop and I wish it was a single. And champagne problems is obvs a career highlight <3

50-46: Possibly my fave section yet! Sweeter Than Fiction :cheeseblock: Ugh its such an underrated masterpiece, we better get a TV (I'm hoping the same as you!). Red/State of Grace are both masterpieces, they should be higher here x (esp the former!) Yeah Midnight Rain wasn't instant for me, but is now easily top 5 from that album for me!

45-41: I'd have these all lower but some underrated tracks here. King Of My Heart sneaks up on me, and every time I hear it I forget just how good it is! Was kinda expecting you to have TIWWCHNT higher!

40-36: I Wish You Would is like 150 places too high x Message In A Bottle also far too high x Clean also too high but ik I'm in the minority on that one x The Man gets so much undeserved hate, its such a bop! And Christmas Tree Farm stanning :cheeseblock: We love to see it! What a fun joyous masterpiece <3 I hope it becomes a classic eventually! And yeah it was released a few days into December, tho it sounded like Taylor literally recorded it about three days before it was released so tbf they couldn't have released it any earlier

35-31: Better Than Revenge is my fave here, tho misogynistic version>>> AYHTDWS is one of 1989s best album tracks, I Can See You is such a major bop & up there with the best vault tracks, The Story Of Us holds many childhood memories for me and DWOHT is another underrated bop, so good section x

30-26: :cheeseblock: Omg what a section (even if 30-28 should all be higher x) Delicate and Lover are such huge career highlights, and cardigan is THE career highlight, all songs I could still listen to 1000 times and never get bored of. TIMT is stunning & the lyrics are beautiful. And yesss u know I agree on Superman x I was really hoping the TV would finally make it slightly more popular with the fanbase, but alas not. It can remain our underrated gem, such a perfect country-pop bop.

25-21: Anti-Hero & New Romantics are superb, the latter deserved to be one of her biggest smashes. Would not have I'm Only Me... that high but it is top 3 on TS so I'm not complaining x Wonderland is great but too high x not screechy change nearly top 20!! Tho TV did definitely improve it!

20-19: Both deserving of top 20 x both classics x I've been re-obsessed with Love Story lately <3

18-17: Style is fab and YOYOK is an easy midnights highlight, the bridge/final chorus is a MOMENT

16-15: Not me getting back just in time for THAT song to make the top 15  Tho shocker, I've been enjoying it more than usual recently x I've been watching their X-Factor performance quite a bit, and I kinda wish the song was a bit shorter & was that length (a rare one for me with any song in her discography!). Still not completely convinced their voices go together on that track but its not the ultra hatred as it used to be x (and ik how much u stan it and I love to see it *.*) The Archer is also lovely <3

013. False God

At Taylor's lucky and favourite number, it is by FAR the most under appreciated track from 'Lover'. False God is an ultra classy, sexy and smooth jazzy-pop song that not only showcases a side to Taylor we're not used to lyrically, but also one of her most unique and interesting productions to date. The smooth jazz, blues-y pop really fits the theme of this so well! It's just so effortless and just an incredible vibe all round. I wasn't a fan on first listen but my GOD did this become a grower. Just phenomenal. GORGEOUS!

014. exile (feat. Bon Iver)

Continuing with the countdown is 'folklore' track exile which features Bon Iver. I remember hearing this album for the first time and this was IMMEDIATELY the highlight for me. I just remember being so blown away with this track and it's mainly down to the piano, for which I am a MAJOR sucker for. I do think it's my number 1 instrument. The story telling in this song and the call and response between each other is just really, incredible song writing. I absolutely ADORE the performance of this from the 'ERAS Tour' recently where the crowd sings back Bon Ivers parts to her. It's really stunning and absolutely one of the best songs she has ever written. Just incredible.

011. epiphany

Missing the top 10 is a 'folklore' track and it's the stunning and gorgeous epiphany. I just think that everything about this song is so poignant and I absolutely adore her vocal production style alongside the ethereal and haunting backing track. I love how delicate and tender it all feels. It also just grows and grows with each passing listen. One of her most sonically interesting songs in her back catalogue and I think they really knocked it out of the park with this. Just stunning.

---

012. Labyrinth

At number 12 we have a 'Midnights' song and sonically I think it fits alongside #11 wonderfully. Labyrinth is just as hauntingly beautiful and gorgeous as the track above, but there's something about this that makes it feel a bit more "radio friendly"(?) that it fits on 'Midnights' so well but would feel a bit "over produced" if included alongside 'epiphany' on 'folklore' for example. I really enjoy the little quirks of production to this song throughout and the way it ascends to that climax is just beautiful. Wonderful.

Brave 'exile' missing the top 10 but the quality of Taylor music is very high so perhaps not too surprising lol. Love 'Style', You're On You're Own Kid' in the top 20 along with several others from the albums!

010. Blank Space

Kicking off the top 10 is a '1989' era song and it is the 2nd single Blank Space. The production is so dreamy, wholesome and just really stunning. It's one of the most immaculately produced pop songs I think I have ever heard. Just absolutely STUNNING. I think this was the song that got me fully into Taylor as a popstar. I was bored of SIO by the time this premiered, but this brought me right back around and I realised what a pop starlet she was being set up to become. A big part of my phase of becoming a Swiftie. Just a perfect pop song.

009. All Too Well / All Too Well (10 Minutes Version)

At number 9 is kind of a tie we have All Too Well. Honestly, I like both versions almost the same. However, I do give the edge to the shorter version when given the option. It just seems to flow that little bit better for me and I find the new parts a little clunky at times ("keychain on the ground" and "fuck the patriarchy" etc..). This IS her absolute best song in terms of writing though, I don't think there is anything else that will/can come close to it. The build throughout the song is stunning and she really excels vocally on this too. Such a fantastic song that FINALLY got it's moment after nearly 10 years of being the fan favourite album track. Just a great song that highlights why she is the greatest songwriter of her generation. TOP TIER.

008. Dress

Next we see a 'Reputation' album track and it comes in form of her sexiest song to date, Dress. This is such a slick and smooth number that I wasn't expecting we'd ever hear from Taylor! It's sexy & sensual in a way we weren't used to with her and I think that is why I love it so much. The "ah ah ah ahhhhh"'s in the build-up to the chorus are addictive and my friend keeps saying it reminds her of Britney a lot, which could possibly explain things a bit to me  I find this incredibly underrated and I can't WAIT for her version of it. I would've loved to have seen what this could've done as a single as I think it would have been a surprise hit (one of those that doesn't get as high as top 30 but sticks around for a couple of months). Just so lush and gorgeous. LOVEEEE! Also a side note, I always put this, 'False God' and 'I Can See You' in the same category. Play them back to back and honestly... WHEWWWW!

007. Long Live

Next up is the first appearance in the top 10 for 'Speak Now'. Long Live is a huge stadium, power pop/country/rock song that sounds like it goes ALL THE WAY off when it is performed live. There's nothing I like more than a soaring stadium ANTHEM that I can sing along and lose my shit to and I really, really hope she *eras tour spoilers*

continues to perform it for us here!

It's always been top 3 on the album for me and I will never get enough of it. I love the message and that she wrote it not only for her fans but specifically for her band mates. You can tell they love performing this whenever they do and it's just so wholesome and incredible.

006. Haunted

Just missing on my top 5 is another track from her 3rd studio album, 'Speak Now'. Haunted is a song that leans a lot more into the "rock" side of things for her. Again it really emphasises that stadium-ready, anthemic pop-rock sound that she's gone for previously (ala 'Change' from 'Fearless') but turns up the rock side of it that little bit extra! An immediate highlight from this album since the first time I listened to the album. I am a sucker for stadium-anthems like this and this ticks every box perfectly for me. I love her voice on this too as I really think it suits this sound! Just an almighty anthem that deserves more appreciation and love.

005. How You Get The Girl

Entering the top 5 now and kicking us off is an underrated almighty BANGER of an anthem... How You Get The Girl, taken from her '1989' album! I don't think it's a secret that I love this track, however I think people may underestimate just *how* much I love this. It's just pure euphoric, pop joy to me. I think it's insanely under-appreciated and never gets the attention it deserves. It's just an absolute ANTHEM to me. I am really annoyed that I didn't go to the '1989' tour because this looks like it pops right OFF when it's performed! Incredible song and this is pretty much one of the most perfect pop songs in existence, imo. Just outstanding in every way.
