I would've expected it to drop out by now - especially given as Sunday seems to never be kind to upbeat/ dance songs - or new songs in general.

I expected it to be out hun, so to see it there is a plus. It all depends on the next few days for Spotify now and what playlists it will be added to.

 

I will be interested to see how Tension holds up on AM and to see its gains on Amazon my hun.

 

Padam seems to be having a bit of a rebound on streaming as well which is nice to see

I hope so hun, if she holds up on AM and continues her climb AND spotify add her to some good playlists then I think she has another top 20 (maybe even top 10 dare I dream?) I am going to treat this release as I treated Padam. Hope for 1 week top 40 at the very least and then anything above that is a bonus and I will wear a sports bra huns and strap myself in for the ride.

'Padam Padam' being such a big hit and a genuine viral moment surely put 'Tension' in a much better position to start off much stronger? (I get that it doesn't always work out that way, but that's usually for songs that aren't greatly received, unlike this one)

Agree, we'll see what happens next weekend. Tension should be comfortably top 100 then if comparable to PP.

I think people are putting their expectations a bit high for Kylie, the song isn’t on Hot Hits and isn’t getting much radio play yet, I don’t think having a hit means you’re guaranteed unwavering streaming support for the next single.

I think Tension is actually doing this well due to the fact Padam was such a hit. Look at Tension on AM! Even on Spotify her streams are higher at the moment. I think you are forgetting Tension is not on the playlists it needs to be just yet, I think you are also forgetting this is the first time Kylie has popped on streaming and a lot of her fanbase are nkt huge streamers.

 

I didnt expect a number 14 first look position hun at all, I did expect a top 40 debut but then maybe a drop in week 2.

 

I love it how people pretend they dont know how streaming works these days and that certain playlists are vital.

Plus as has been said, one hit single in this day and age doesn't exactly guarantee repeating it for the next one - especially one that was lagely built off the back of going viral on the internet. :rolleyes:

And, so far, this single is doing better on a day-to-day basis than Padam was at this point. Your logic doesn't check out.

 

Also worth remembering that context is important. Padam was the exception, not the rule. It's obviously given Tension a leg-up but Kylie has no established history of smashing out the gate on Spotify. I struggle to see how it's disappointing!
