January 8, 20241 yr Moby and James Blake  The former is so versatile and has created so many great tracks over the decades… the latter is someone I was guilty of dismissing a bit before his 2019 album sucked me in… I then reevaluated everything and decided he was exceptional
January 8, 20241 yr Really impressed with that result for Roy (although if popchartfreak had voted he’d have had an extra 30 I reckon!) He’s my dad’s favourite which has obviously influenced me but I still think he’s the best ever male soloist. That unique voice, and the amount of angst and drama he manages to pack into a song. Think my favourite hits are It’s Over, In Dreams, Crying, Only The Lonely, You Got It and I Drove All Night but he has a fair collection of truly great songs.
January 8, 20241 yr 'You Got It' is my favourite Roy Orbison track by a mile, it's just so good. I've never much cared for his version of 'I Drove All Night' though, but that's probably more to do with the fact that Cyndi's original is one of my favourite songs of the 80s.
January 8, 20241 yr Roy’s is the original I understand! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Drove_All_Night

January 8, 20241 yr My faves from George are his three Top 3 hits that aren't 'Green Green Grass' Jimwatts- -18ptsIt wasn't that bad though! :kink:
January 8, 20241 yr 19 points lost today but Shawn Mendes and George Ezra are both great singers. and I'm in the minority here that likes Green Green Grass
January 8, 20241 yr Yay George rises despite the cruel unjustifiable outpourings of venom towards GGG :cheeseblock:
January 8, 20241 yr I actually mostly like George Ezra's chart discography but 'Green Green Grass' is so terrible (the venom is entirely justifiable xx) it makes me want to root against him. Lol not Rod Stewart being this high (and even higher last time). Ok. Shawn Mendes also has some good tunes but he's not really an artist I care much about overall so not a vintage batch today.
January 8, 20241 yr Rod isn't someone I'd vote for as his music or voice for that matter isn't for me but he has some good songs like 'Sailing', 'First Cut Is The Deepest' and 'Baby Jane'. Oop at losing two of mine but now we are at the top 30 to be expected now. Shawn is great. Not many I don't like although 'Stitches' did take a little bit of time to click with me but when it did I loved it! George is fantastic too. Was an amazing moment seeing 'Budapest' first make the chart after having listened and liked it in late 2013. The only two I don't like by him is the aforementioned 'Green Green Grass' and also 'Cassy O'! Hopefully his next era brings back the great quality somewhat!
January 8, 20241 yr GGG is clearly him trying to release a chart hit! His best songs are always in the album! Love Sir Rod of the House of Stuart, he had some great no1 hits spanning many decades!
January 8, 20241 yr What the hell is that picture of George Ezra? He looks about 14  anyway 'Listen To The Man' remains his best song and did not deserve a #41 peak x
