A slay for Benson *.* undoubtedly one of my favourite new artists of the last few years!

George Harrison did some great solo stuff. 'My Sweet Lord', 'What Is Life' and 'Got My Mind Set On You' are all 10/10 for me.

George Harrison on the same level as Benson Boone...love Buzzjack x

 

Urgh, in my mind M83 were a group so I left them (him) out (Bre's never gonna let me live that down :'() Would've been close to the top 10 for me otherwise, amazing at atmospheric instrumentals and creating soundscapes, even if his top 40 hit isn't anywhere close to his best for me.

 

Really like what I've heard of solo Thom Yorke and Jean Michele Jarre too

Flo Rida finishing above some of the other rappers that are already out... only on BuzzJack x (and he was as high as 69th last time? :lol:) (('Low' is a classic tho ofc))

 

Dizzee and Pharrell are my favourites from the last couple of days (the latter moreso for production / features / N*E*R*D than his solo material but he does have some good solo stuff too, 'Marilyn Monroe' in particular is a jam) but don't think either would have made my own list. George Harrison also a legend ofc but I don't know too many of his solo songs, same with Paul Simon and Jean-Michel Jarre.

Yeah, I would've voted Noel Gallagher as his post-Oasis material has been pretty wonderful, but I definitely see HFB as a group.

I think i permitted it as wiki says that they are only group for touring purposes, otherwise its just him. But I can see an argument both ways.

Jean Michel-Jarre is of course an electronic pioneer and George Harrison is the mastermind behind my favourite solo Beatle album All Things Must Pass :wub: glad I wasn't alone in voting for them

I was gonna say it's criminal that only two of us voted for Noel Gallagher, but I didn't realise it was contentious to vote for him. I've always thought of NGHFB as essentially just Noel Gallagher with touring musicians, it didn't even occur to me that he wouldn't be allowed!

Noel Gallagher still occasionally releases solo stuff under his own name, so the High Flying Birds are a band imo.

I tried to get as many edge cases as I could in, but M83 was the only one Gezza allowed in! It didn't even occur to me to attempt to include Noel based on HFB

Now we've hit the top 100, acts with equal points will be split by the following criteria

1) highest individual points awarded THEN

2) amount of voters that gave that high score THEN

3) total number of voters

 

and if all equal the next highest individual score and repeat above
