Posted October 9, 20231 yr View this post on Instagram Charli XCX has teased a new song coming out soon on her TikTok, which she has confirmed is going to be a standalone single and not from an album. Sam Smith also responded to the video with an eyes emoji, and in the video for Speed Drive, she teased speaking to Sam Smith so it seems likely that they may be a feature on the track but it's not been confirmed yet. It's produced by AG Cook, Ilya, George Daniel, Omer Fedi and herself. Sounds like a BANGER! Hyped as ever
October 20, 20231 yr have to agree, not sure what they've done to sam's part but their voice sounds weird
October 20, 20231 yr The song really isn't great regardless. Charli really has to be one of the most hit and miss artists for me.
October 20, 20231 yr Charli has posted in support of Sam after people on social media starting dragging them over their feature on the song. The comments on some of the TikToks for this song are disgusting
October 20, 20231 yr This kinda bops! It is a little underwhelming on first listen, especially the chorus but I really don't mind Sam's feature at all, I think they did quite well! One thing for sure is that it doesn't match up at all to the singles from 'Crash'.
October 20, 20231 yr Gentle pronoun reminder for Sam! The song is decent, I don't love it though. Not hearing any issue with Sam's vocals, they sound just as they always do?
October 20, 20231 yr Gentle pronoun reminder for Sam! eek, sorry about that. I'm very forgetful about pronouns for some reason, i'm very sorry if that offended anyone :(
October 20, 20231 yr Sam Smith is at their best when they make brain numbing dance pop. This is brain numbing dance pop. Therefore I don’t see what’s the issue, sorry guys
October 21, 20231 yr Yeah, I'm shocked at the vitriol for Sam (even from online gays) because they don't sound any different to normal? Fair enough if you don't like their voice but it hasn't stopped them getting numerous number ones in the past..? The song is pretty average though.
October 21, 20231 yr Finding this pretty dull - the verses and the production are cute but "I never thought I would find it, but I found what I was looking for" is so clunky and generic it makes the whole thing feel like it's been run through AI  and the "in the city in the dark" chorus is so repetitive. I don't mind Sam being here as I'm an on-and-off fan, but both have done way better and I think I'd like this more if it was more pots and pans, like a Vroom Vroom / Unholy crossover.
