January 16, 20241 yr While I don’t think it is a bad cover, I don’t get how she went from the incredible artwork of the first four to the basic artwork of the current and last one?

February 16, 20241 yr That’d be nice. I didn’t mind her last album, so it was a little disappointing it didn’t perform as well as her other albums.
February 16, 20241 yr It may well peak higher because of it not being a Q4 release but I feel like she’s likely now gonna struggle because of streams as she always relied more on high physical sales. Really excited to hear this though. I think she could potentially challenge for a #1 with this there’s been quite a while for the pre order and she usually does decently enough in her opening weeks (and I think she’ll be promoting well too).
February 16, 20241 yr OK I've given this my first listen and already I'm liking it more than the last album! 'God In A Dress', 'Say My Name' and 'Let It Ride' are my highlights of the songs I hadn't heard previously, and most of the others sound like they will be growers with repeated listens. And I remain obsessed with 'Bad Woman' Edited February 16, 20241 yr by Mangø
February 17, 20241 yr Pretty solid album on first listen! Divorce and Cry on the Dancefloor stood out the most on first listen. It’s a pretty strong album though. She’s very consistent for me though. I’m quite inclined to get some tour tickets for her Newcastle show  EDIT: Paloma is on the Jonathan Ross show tonight. Hopefully it does something for her in terms of album sales if she’s performing but she has had some gigs across the weekend and there’s some signings across the week too. Would be nice to see her score another #1 but she should easily maintain her top ten streak across studio albums at worst I’d think! Edited February 17, 20241 yr by JLJ
February 17, 20241 yr I’m very much enjoying the new album. If the charts were a level playing field, Cry On The Dance Floor would be a massive hit.
February 18, 20241 yr On first listen, it’s a bit underwhelming. A rap in one song and her voice sounds over produced on other songs. Hopefully it will grow on me but time will tell.
February 18, 20241 yr Going to her signing at HMV tomorrow. Have given the album a few spins and it’s ‘nice’ - there is nothing wrong with it but equally nothing particularly stands out, feel that this album will be her least successful :nocheer: although hopefully she has a decent opening week.
