Good evening!

We now have 27 entries competing in Akatsuki, Lotunia. You will find all the competing entries below.

♬Guidelines♬

You must only vote for your Top 10 songs using the 12 point system: (12 | 10 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1).

Send your votes to me, NocheLuna.

Non-voters will receive a 33% deduction from their entry's score. Late-voters who vote after the deadline has passed will receive a 15% deduction to their entry's score.

The deadline is: 21th October | 23.59pm (BST).

The results will hopefully be presented on Sunday.

OMG Lewwww you've finally sent Poly Pineapple to something :o I can remember you recommending that to me many years ago

oop at me being the only one who didn't take this as seriously as the rest of y'all lol

Excited to hear the other entries!

Ooh Laura Palmer's Theme is a fantastic choice, one of many glorious pieces of music from that show  (The Succession theme has reminded me I need to get around to watching that too x)

This was a good opportunity to recycle an artist I last sent a few years ago with a song from the same EP that is a utterly wonderful classical/post-rock esque slow burn. Excited to hear the rest of these!

Representing the Spodic Empire in this competition is Nils Frahm, who describes his composition as Hans Zimmer and Enya making a trance tune together.

I've sent something pretty lo-fi so I already look forward to the vibes of that and Röyskopp back-to-back <3

Nicholas Britell is a familiar name to me as he did the score for She Said and also pops up in study playlists I use with other soundtracks, so looking forward to that one. You can't really go wrong with the likes of Bicep or Mogwai either from what I know of them!

It was also an entrant to my classical edition of Club Bizarre a few years back! :cheeseblock: Great choice though x

Oh, I guess it should have been vetoed. It was such a last minute thing that I didn't even search the site to see if had been entered into another competition.

I'm completely fine to be disqualified from this edition.

^ I mentioned this in the confirmations thread - it's fine, it's only songs from previous BJSCs that are disallowed, recycling from other contests is fine. (As Noche reminded me when I messaged him about this we had a former top 2 hit from Unknown Pleasures crop up in one of the Halloween spinoffs before!)

'Says' is actually my most successful Club Bizarre entry (came 4th there) and one of my favourites that I've sent there so I'm more than happy for it to be wheeled out again (although I reserve the right to be salty if it comes top 3 ), and I'm sure there should be a decent number here who didn't hear it already in Club Bizarre.

Also nice to see Wholune sending a much better Polyphia song now :teresa: I think that's the only other song here I've heard already (although I believe Conoria's entry is basically just the instrumental of 'Paris, Texas' by Lana Del Rey, the sneak xx), but a good handful of other familiar names that should hopefully be delivering the quality B-) and of course looking forward to all the discoveries too.

I ended up feeling a bit cba to look for something new so I have actually just sent the song I had planned for the next main contest here and I'll find something else for that - tbh I feel like it's maybe a little too similar to Fatal Youth, it's another breakcore / atmospheric drum n bass track, so maybe shouldn't be sending two songs from that fairly narrow niche in quick succession anyway!

It's an astonishing piece of music. I only discovered it a few years ago.
Hoping I'll have better luck with contemporary classical this time!
Also it just occurred to me with Eastovka being a participant here that this would be the second time this year that they have heard a track I’ve sent which is produced by Giuseppe Ottaviani who forms one half of Nu NRG. I would always have favoured sending this entry to a song contest over the remixed version of Every Other Way which flopped in Club Bizarre back in July. ;)
Plenty of video game soundtracks were already prepared for this contest, but I've decided to just send a trance song that's already on my personal chart. Hope you guys like it. ^_^
