After two self-released albums, Everything Everything have signed to BMG! Their seventh album 'Moutainhead' has just been announced and will released on 1st March - it's already looking like quite a busy release day with Yard Act and Kaiser Chiefs already releasing their albums then so hopefully all can still get good chart positions.

Lead single 'Cold Reactor' is premiering tonight on Clara Amfo's Radio 1 show, so hopefully that means they'll still get something on their playlist this era.

Tracklisting:

1. Wild Guess

2. The End of the Contender

3. Cold Reactor

4. Buddy, Come Over

5. R U Happy?

6. The Mad Stone

7. TV Dog

8. Canary

9. Don't Ask Me to Beg

10. Enter the Mirror

11. Your Money, My Summer

12. Dagger's Edge

13. City Song

14. The Witness

Oh cool (?) that they are signed again - if this can get them back on the Radio 1 playlist that'd be great x (although BMG are the ones who seem to deal mostly with later career pop acts right? so I won't hold my breath).

Love that it's another <2 year gap between albums as well *.* keeping us fed this decade

'Cold Reactor' sounds nice, based on the live recordings I saw on YouTube.

New album sooner than I expected is an even nicer thing to know.

‘Cold Reactor’ has been a multi-week #1 in my personal chart and ‘The Mad Stone’ #3 so far, so it’s safe to say that this era is off to a good start :P

"Empty but for us and the vomit, Elvis sitting dead on the toilet" 💀

I've only had a singular background listen so far (my WFH day has been soundtracked by an EE marathon in general <3 Get To Heaven is still everything) so pending a proper focused experience in headphones, but the album was sounding great - the back-to-back of 'Dagger's Edge' and 'City Song' stood out as particularly wonderful away from the singles. The sound is pretty synth-poppy throughout a la 'Cold Reactor' and 'The End of the Contender', their most pop to date I think, but not complaining - it's bursting with catchy hooks. Looking forward to finding out which tracks grow on me the most on subsequent listens.

Hopefully my vinyl should turn up today 💚
