I think I know 4 of these this time around, so lots to discover. I'm still expecting this theme to bring up some songs I'll really enjoy so really looking forward to listening to these.

I know some names here but I think 'Alchemy' is the only entry I immediately recognise aside from my own, great song :wub:

Also already know 'Alchemy' (much better than Geo22's BJSC winner x) and 'Calabrian Woods', I think that's it but a few more artists I know as usual including all of the first 3 (Olof Dreijer being one half of The Knife).

 

Only 6 songs on the Spotify playlist being under 5 minutes :cheeseblock:

Brutalismus 3000 and Kai Tracid :wub: although I don't know Kai song but he's one of my fave trance artist of late 90's/early 00's!!!

Sad to have missed this yesterday, what was the general consensus on the overall standard?

I'm gonna aim to do a relisten before voting since there is plenty of time for one and a number of the songs didn't really leave the strongest impression on first listen for me - I'd say my top 8 are pretty strong but then the last two slots in my provisional votes are kind of just 'the best of the rest' so unforch wouldn't say this was one of the stronger editions of this, hopefully some songs will grow on me though!

 

(there was only one song that I felt particularly negatively about, but a few more that were just a neutral reaction and then a lot more in the 'pretty good' pile)

This is a very high quality contest in my book, there's a clear top 4 for me and all of them would be pushing for my 12 points in other volumes.

I thought the first section was outstanding, 7 of the first 10 songs are going straight on my playlist. But after that it kind of got a bit samey overall, but with a few more highlights at the end.

 

Will vote once I've worked out a way to order them!
