3. All These Things I've Done

4. Somebody Told Me

5. When You Were Young

8. Spaceman

9. A Dustland Fairytale

10. Be Still

11. Runaways

12. The Man

14. My Own Soul's Warning

'Smile Like You Mean It' and another track from 'Wonderful Wonderful' probably 'Run For Cover' or 'Rut' and the track list would have been perfect for me. Excited to hear the new song though.
Tranquilze never seems to be included on any of their GH albums and shame Smile Like You Mean It isn’t on there either
Run For Cover and Shot At The Night are both essentials for me, really missing them and definitely prefer them to most of the second half

Only a GHs!!! Sounds class and very excited to listen to this when released.

Can’t remember track 10 Be Still at all??

From 'Battle Born'! It's an album track, but a fan favourite.

I think I'd rather have 'The Way it Was' though.

The Killers should take a leaf out of Bon Jovi’s book and do a complete GH version of this album

Really? Only one from WW?

I mean I would personally have 'Run For Cover' over 'Dying Breed'.

I don't think WW is very highly regarded album in general. Sure, it's their only #1 in the US but that was more to do with luck and merch-aided sales than true popularity at the time.

'Shot At The Night' I kinda understand why it's not on there (wasn't that one of the ones they used to promote their original greatest hits?) but I'm sad that 'Run For Cover' isn't on there. I'd have been happy for them to have left off one of 'Dying Breed' or 'Pressure Machine' in favour of it.

No 'Smile Like You Mean It' is bizarre.

Interesting that they'd include 'Jenny' over 'Smile' when the latter was a single and the former wasn't! Quite bizarre!

Echoing the love for 'Shot At The Night', I really could have done with that being on there even though I kinda get why it's not. Also would have liked 'Here With Me' over 'Be Still'.

From what I've gathered, the choice was heavily influenced by two things -

- What was on the first GH, thinking those songs already got a chance to shine so trying to give others (Jenny over Smile, no Shot At The Night).

- A desire to shine a light more on the newer songs, which they feel haven't got as much attention and they rate them.

I'm just sad they scrapped the planned EP for this release so we only get two new songs rather than 5 or so.

Out tonight, I’ve adored Your Side Of Town over the last few months.

I agree especially about Shot at the night as its one of their best singles.

I welcome the love from others for Shot at the Night which I would have much preferred to have made this release.

This looks set to be their 8th #1 album!

I'm actually quite enjoying 'Spirit', it's a shame we won't hear anything else from the scrapped synth album.

I wonder why they scrapped a synth style album as i think it really suited them from the songs we heard.

Brandon's addressed it a few times in interviews recently:

“It just didn’t feel authentic. It felt like we were forcing something. We love synth music, it’s a part of our DNA and there’s been great contributions from us in that genre. And man, we love New Order and Depeche Mode, so it’s not a slight. It just doesn’t feel right for us at the moment.”

They intend to make more music like 'Pressure Machine', which is good with me!

I'm quite liking Spirit also - it's interesting in structure. I definitely prefer the final three tracks to most of the rest of the second half of the album.
