With the CD single out next week, can Sam go all the way next week?

The current chart is a bit wonky since other streams haven't been counted yet. He's up from last week, but Wham! and Mariah are still ahead in Christmas streams, though their weekend streams are lower than last weekend.

I know he has promo events with Amazon Music UK, so hopefully they'll continue to help him boost his streaming numbers. Even better if people can buy CDs there. His best chance is probably the week after, but it’s more likely he will stay top 10.

There's something Christmassy in itself about the goodwill towards Sam despite Eurovision still having a joke reputation for much of the UK gp
He performed the song at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball which is being shown on ITV this Sunday which should give it a boost. Well if anyone watching has Amazon Music anyway.

Hopefully he’ll signpost people to download the MP3 on Amazon too. Then people can import it to Spotify/Apple Music if they wish.

Be interesting to see how well the CD single does as it’s impossible to know how organically successful this song would have been if released without Amazon.

Sam's been quiet about his CDs lately. Can anyone drop by one of his Samta's Grotto events to check if he's selling them? There must be a reason for doing it, and since it's organised by Amazon UK, he should be able to sell them.

What date is the cd out?

15th December. Not sure about the tracklist.

The Sun are reporting that the original video was scrapped, with the released one quickly put together:

SAM RYDER’s festive season has become a lot dearer than usual – after he scrapped a video costing thousands.

I can reveal the Space Man singer dressed up as Wizzard frontman Roy Wood in the promo for his new single You’re Christmas To Me.

Sam slapped on blue facepaint and a red and white striped hat, just as Roy did in the clip for his 1973 festive hit I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.

However, mysterious circumstances led to the entire project being canned and a new video being hastily filmed.

That was just in time for today’s chart, when the track will battle Wham!’s Last Christmas for the No1 spot.

On Sunday, it was revealed Sam’s tune had risen from No12 to No2 and was just 800 copies behind the Eighties classic, which topped the charts last Friday. Quizzed about the video, Sam said: “We ain’t said anything, I can’t confirm or deny.

“All I can say is, no one will ever see it, because of reasons beyond our control.

“But there is another video coming that we had to do very last minute.

“It’s a damage-control video. I made it in about eight hours. But the original, I can’t confirm it even exists.”

He kept schtum on exactly why the video was binned, but some have suggested Roy may not have been best pleased.
