That's really odd, I'd expect him to be very high up in that week's chart!

So to stop a Christmas classic (probably Wham!) getting there this year, somebody basically needs to come along and sell at least 60k, which feels unlikely unless there is a physical/download campaign of some magnitude.

 

I'd probably bet on The Sidemen too at this point.

 

Imagine if a superstar used it as the week to unleash a comeback single. I guess it would still get trampled over by the Christmas noise, unless it was the lead from a new Harry Styles or Taylor Swift album.

There were rumours of something Christmassy coming from Taylor. Maybe her Christmas EP (Taylor’s Version). If true, something from that could be a contender

The rumours ended up being another merch drop with items from all eras like last year, the most christmassy thing from it was the fact that you could buy ts themed baubles. I think she will eventually do a Taylor’s version of her Christmas ep but Ngl i think if she was putting it out this year we would know already

That’s only 1 day earlier than last year. Last year Wham! got around 55k and so far have been up over 30% on last year (though this may settle down as the season progresses.

no she did the 'old timey version' as an amazon exclusive in 2021, released reverywgere last year, but the orginal from 2019 was always an 'everywhere' release not exclusive

That's just their thing... you either love it or hate it :lol: I quite like Sleaford Mods, but couldn't listen to them back-to-back for long.
