Oh well, I've put three mini bets on now:

£3.79 on Noah Kahan at 66/1 (William Hill capped my bet at this, I tried to put on £10??)

£3 on Creator Universe at 13/8

£3.21 on Wham! at 9/2

Watch it just be The Pogues now, but I can bear a £10 loss.

🤣 you held out for long!

Really would be nice to see The Pogues or Stick Season do it!

I'm seeing a lot of “No! Pogues must be Number One!”. Let's see if people put their money where their mouth is.
Then they need fo stop streaming Wham, just like they did years ago before thr occ made it popular!!!
I’ll get £1,000 if Noah Kahan gets it so no last minute campaigns this year please! :cheer:
I have £20 on Noah at 50/1 on Bet365. Putting all my eggs in his basket :P

Edit: right after I placed my bet he’s now 25/1!

Fingers crossed for you! I can't work out why William Hill limited me to a £3.79 bet??

I do think the 60k or so that he'll need is probably a big ask, but it's probably on course for 45k this week, and you can just never rule out a remix or feature dropping.

They were doing the same to me! So I tried Bet 365 instead and it let me put whatever I wanted on, even though the odds were a little shorter. I don’t understand why they put a cap on these things, I think the same happened when I tried to bet on Wham last year

Wow fingers crossed! (I hate the song personally but always good to see the Bookies get shafted like in 2016 with Clean Bandit).

Wow hope that works out! I don't personally gamble but that seems a reasonably sensible bet to me, I'd probably be more tempted to take that than much lower odds on Wham! etc.
Noah is starting to feel like a tempting bet but I think I'm sticking to my guns on Wham! (while kind of hoping that I'll lose my tenner with The Pogues taking it instead x).

Creator Universe officially favourite now @ 6/5 and The Pogues just very slightly behind @ 5/4

Wham are 7/1 and Noah's still as high as 66/1 and as low as 14/1!

William Hill have mine capped at £1.25 for Noah!! Not even gonna bother.

Tried betting a high amount on Noah at Ladbrokes at 66/1, they took a while to check it and capped it at £10.10 and immediately lowered his odds to 20/1
Sam Ryder would be lucky to get another single go top 40, never mind a Christmas #1.

This aged well lol

Ugh, can we PLEASE not have a 6th Christmas number 1 in a row that is rich people using poverty to sell their rubbish song?
How can the bookies cap a bet? Not people’s fault they don’t know what they are talking about!

oh my just read Wham have announced physical singles, both CD singles and vinyl singles too

that kinda seals it I reckon

Hold on...surely this means it will not longer be on ACR? As they are actively promoting it? So it will run away with the number 1, if that is the case...

not sure that rules exist anymore, Mariah did also something similar and was not removed from acr

or i'd say the rules excludes old xmas singles
