New Spotify peak for 'Santa Tell Me' - shame it still won't translate to Top 10 officially.

Spotify Chart Update (20/12)

Noah Kahan still quite ahead of Wham! with ACR applied but that won't matter whatsoever for this or next week's official chart of course.

crazy how Ariana is doing so well on Spotify on the back of massive playlist support I should add

but it's only #15 in the Mids

Alexa must not be an Ariana fan then :D

Alexa is a big Ariana fan, it's Apple where she is relatively underperforming

Alexa's chart is currently looking like:

  1. Wham
  2. Mariah
  3. Ariana
  4. Kelly
  5. Buble
  6. Slade
  7. Ed & Elton
  8. Bobby Helms
  9. Sam Ryder
  10. Leona
  11. Brenda
  12. John & Yoko
  13. Dean Martin
  14. Jorja Smith
  15. Paul McC
  16. Wizzard
  17. Sia
  18. Mariah (again)
  19. Ronettes
  20. Wham (again)

etc. (Sam Ryder also at #30)

Thats weird #3 on Alexa-land and #3 on Spotify should mean top 5 for sure despite Apple

well she is #13 on Apple

so kinda strange that #3 on Amazon, #3 on Spotify, #13 on Apple means #15 in the Mids :D

Whereas if you’re Sam, #8 on Amazon = #2 in the mids!

Whereas if you’re Sam, #8 on Amazon = #2 in the mids!

Yes, because as explained numerous times, Sam's not on ACR, the data isn't fully accurate as the midweeks have a day of missing Spotify/Apple Music data usually (for which Sam has 0), and 100% of his streams are at the premium ratio, whereas his competition has a proportion of ad-funded streams which count less.

Also Sam has 2 versions in the Amazon chart, and the chart there displays different positions depending on if you're subscribed or not.

(The 100% premium streams thing isn't true based on the article posted the other day)

I’m aware, I still find it odd. I’m not breaking any rules by acknowledging that

Then I apologise for how it came across - it's been explained many a time this week alone how the Amazon exclusives' chart positions check out despite how strange it looks (and I appreciate it's confusing especially if you're not an avid chart follower), so to see continued confusion was a little surprising. I haven't suggested anywhere that you're not allowed to express how you feel so I can assure you that wasn't ever an intention in my post.

Plus Sam has physical singles out too and he's on a heavy promo schedule - a bit on the level of Lewis Capaldi's no.1s this year. No wonder he's no.2 in the charts so far this week.

Hmmm... What's that all about? Is it explained anywhere?

Amazon has two charts, the one you can only see if you are an unlimited subscriber. The unlimited one has explicit songs in too I believe which aren't in the 'free' chart.

What one of the most famous Christmas songs ever made gets a lot of plays on Alexa, well il be damned!
