Surprised there's not a thread for this? :o I've been meaning to find the chance to see it for weeks now and finally managed it today! I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a kid (the book as well as the Gene Wilder film) so I was hyped to see this, especially with it not being another remake. I was really impressed, Timothée Chalamet is mesmerising as Willy Wonka and I really liked a lot of the supporting characters too. Easy to see why it's doing so well too, it's a perfect "family" film.

Got goosebumps during the

Pure Imagination

moment  and I'm kinda hooked on this bop now

'Scrub Scrub' has been stuck in my head ever since I saw this a few weeks ago :kink:

(also enjoyed, a much less traumatic cinema experience than Charlie and the Chocolate Factory aged 8 when Augustus Gloop getting stuck up the tube was how I discovered I had claustrophobia xx)

My new year's resolution is to make threads for movies for this year. Sometimes I just log them on my Letterboxd and then just don't bother

I loved this! So joyous and wonderful. My favourite song is 'You've Never Had Chocolate Like This' (the big main one!) but honestly I've been playing the songs on repeat. I was so wrapped up in this world that I would like a couple more films to see what made him spiral into the sarcastic/cold Gene Wilder version.

I saw this over the weekend and loved it, so good.

Timothée Chalamet was excellent and I'm a fan of Jim Carter too.

Scrub Srucb, and Sweet Tooth the two stand out songs for me. I've had them in my head all week.

This was THE BEST thing I have seen in years, absolutely utterly LOVED it!

It's just magical, I walked out of the cinema beaming, the songs are gorgeous, Timothy is perfect, the storyline works so well, visually stunning honestly I am tempted to go and watch it again.

Pure imagination is my favourite song but also loved world of your own, a hatful of dreams, scrub scrub... oh every single one tbh!

Me and my partner went to see it. We were the only two in the screen showing it but I was thrilled. I only went because he really wanted to see it and I was so pleasantly surprised. I would love a sequel but we'll see what happens.

I went to see this for the second time as I loved it that much, enjoyed it even more the second time, it's utterly brilliant and Timothy is so charming in the role.

Cinema was packed both times for me.

It was all right. Gene Wilder will forever reign supreme.
