I think Taste is on 303k. Looking forward to seeing when Wildflower, PPC, Bad Chem, Guess, Backbone, DWAS, Somedays enter. Can’t be too long for most. Maybe even apple can make it eventually. Espresso is taking an age to overtake lose control

Do we know if it's a 53 week chart year (will include the chart revealed on January 3rd) or 52 weeks (only includes up to 27th December)?

Not sure if it's a mistake or sales have been revised but shouldn't Good Luck Babe have 804k sales? It increased by 44k from 760k last week

Agreed - thanks ;)

Does anyone know what the 10 biggest British singles are this year? (I mean the shortlist that will likely be eligible for "Best British Single" at the BRITs in March?)

Basically I think JADE will end the year on about 270k-300k-ish and I am just wondering if that's enough to get her shortlisted (it feels like majority of this years biggest hits have been by Americans or songs that aren't eligible for this coming awards szn etc..)

Songs on the YTD list eligible for this year's award (I think):

1. Myles smith- stargazing

2. Artemas- I like the way you kiss me

3. Ella henderson- alibi

4. Dua lipa- houdini

5. dua lipa- training season

6. Central cee- band4band

7. Billy gillies- dna

8. Bl3ss- kisses

9. Jungle- back on 74

10. Fred again- leave me alone

11. Good neighbours- home

Home is on around 350k, Jade has a lot of catching up to do

^ It's one song per artist so Dua won't get two on there! They nominated 15 songs last year so perhaps still a chance for Jade.

Would be pretty silly if they didn't nominate her, she's peaked higher than most of those! Right now I can only see backbone, one of charli's and one of Coldplay's joining this list

I doubt he’ll make the top 100 but Jordan Adetunji is probably ahead of Jade too

Entering the Top 100 this week:

Taste

Linger

Brown Eyed Girl

Leaving this week:

Rich Baby Daddy

Calm Down

On my Live

I could be wrong but if Chappell and Billie knock Beyonce and Taylor out of the top 10 and Dasha's sales stay consistent, could this be the first year the entire top 10 has done 1.2 million?

Also, where is Baddadan currently? Thanks

It'll be interesting to see how far Kisses, Hot to Go, and Taste can go. They're still scoring quite a bit of points and only 100-150k seperate them from current 40th which got 8k last week.

I don’t think the whole Top 10 has ever done 1.2 million but I can’t see that quite happening. For example “Austin” did 23k this week and is in steady decline - even averaging 20k per week for the next 12 weeks would be good going and that would take it to 1.17 million. Non Christmas tracks tend to take a bit of a hit going into December too.

“Baddadan” is #60 with around 420k; total 860k

Will 'Espresso' overtake 'Stick Season' or is Noah too far ahead?
Oh boo, there's always one... Even if it doesn't happen I think there's a chance of it being the highest top 10 threshold ever- the current highest is 1.13m in 2016 by the looks of it

Wouldn't say so, but number 2 seems on lock. Predicting 2m for Noah and 1.85m for Sabrina

No chance of “Stick Season” being overtaken. I’d say “Espresso” being #2 is probable: “Beautiful Things” and “Lose Control” have had crazy longevity but “Espresso” is looking very sticky now too.

Thanks, as ever, Julian!

It’s a shame Spotify numbers have dropped off. Those that got caught in the golden period didn’t even need to get top 10 to be near 700k like Scared To Start whereas now you need to be top 5 for 10+ weeks to get on the list
