Wonder how close WAOLOM is and whether it could manage a few weeks

It’s just over 200k but only doing about 13k per week now so will take a few weeks to get there if it does at all.

It’s interesting to see how Taylor songs perform against each other and which tracks really stick with the general public. You have “Cruel Summer” now streaming about five times more per week than “Is It Over Now?” which peaked more recently but really is over now.

Frustratingly there are no accurate sales apart from “Espresso” whose sales have been given every week it’s charted anyway.

Interesting that “Lose Control” is the biggest pure seller with over 50k.

“Noah Kahan’s Stick Season remains the Official biggest single of 2024 so far, as we reach the halfway point of the year, Official Charts can confirm.

Stick Season reigned supreme at the top of the Official Singles Chart for seven consecutive weeks at the beginning of 2024 – and remains the longest-running Number 1 single of the year so far.

The first UK chart-topper from Vermont singer-songwriter Noah, taken from his third studio album of the same name, the song’s title refers to a transitional time in Vermont between autumn and winter.

According to Official Charts Company data, Stick Season has shifted 1.37 million chart units, including 160 million combined audio and video streams in 2024 so far. Originally released in 2022, the song’s lifetime total currently stands at 1.9 million chart units and 218 million streams in the UK.

Coming in at Number 2, we have Teddy Swims’ soulful Lose Control, which is also the most digitally downloaded single of 2024 so far (51,300 downloads), while Benson Boone’s former breakthrough Number 1 Beautiful Things lands at Number 3.

One new entry that is likely to rise further on the list throughout the year is Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso (4), which spent five weeks at Number 1 before being unseated by Sabrina’s follow-up, Please Please Please. The track has already gathered 763,000 combined chart units including 85.7 million streams since its release in April.

Rounding out the Top 5, we have Hozier’s first UK Number 1 single, Too Sweet, which topped the Official Singles Chart for two weeks.

One of the dominant themes of 2024 so far has been a well-earned renaissance for country music in the UK, and as such we have plenty of country tracks burning up the biggest songs of 2024 so far. Beyoncé’s chart-topping TEXAS HOLD ‘EM leads the pack in the Top 10 (6) while breakthrough smashes Austin by Dasha (13) and Shaboozey’s A Bar Song (Tipsy) (14) earn a spot in the Top 20.

Further down, there are further country-fuelled appearances from Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves on I Remember Everything (28) and Post Malone & Morgan Wallen with I Had Some Help (36).

Ariana Grande sinks two entries in the Top 40 with two of the biggest hits from eternal sunshine; the handbag house strut of yes, and? (16) and the Robyn-esque we can’t be friends (wait for your love) (19).

Two tracks from Dua Lipa’s chart-topping third record Radical Optimism are also present; the hypnotic Houdini (22) and Training Season (31) both of which were Top 10 hits on the Official Singles Chart.

Other 2024 single releases to make the year-to-date list include; Artemas’s i like the way you kiss me (15), Taylor Swift’s fortnight ft. Post Malone (17), Michael Marcagi’s Scared To Start (18), and Ella Henderson & Rudimental’s Coolio-sampling Alibi (21).

Rounding out the Top 40, we have Tommy Richman’s Million Dollar Baby (30), Mark Ambor’s Belong Together (32) and Kygo and Ava Max’s Whatever (37), which samples Shakira’s 2001 classic Whenever, Wherever.

Double chop for Sza as both “Snooze” and “Saturn” exit as “Take On Me” re-enters just below “I Don’t Wanna Wait”.

I'm loving the fresh EOY this year! Can see both Chappell and Myles entering the Top 40 next week too!
Scared to start was only in the top 10 for three weeks and it’s so high up, pretty bizarre

“Belong Together” very high for a non Top 10 hit too - already gold.

Which song is at number 100?

“Take On Me” - A-Ha

It's looking good now, but I think over the next few weeks the bottom half is gonna see a bunch of old songs replacing hits from the start of this year.

That said, the top is looking very good, a lot fewer carry overs than the last few years

Not sure if anyone will have the answer, but does anybody know what Perrie’s sales for Forget About Us are like? Had a good debut and floated around the Top 100 for a few months.

Was wondering if it’s likely near a silver certification?

I’d estimate somewhere in the 130k region.

I'm still very confused as to where Summer of '69 gets all its sales from, it seems to rarely be top 200 on either Spotify or Apple.

I can only assume it's very popular with Alexa.

What position is Dog Days Are Over? I’m surprised it’s still on the list

#91 and still streaming pretty strongly.
