January 19, 20241 yr The streaming market has increased by more than 4% for a second week in a row, so it's maybe not surprising that a lot of these songs have managed a small increase. I always thought the rule that songs avoid ACR if they increase by any amount, even if it's less than the market, was put in place primarily to stop songs going to ACR prematurely on the build up to Christmas (when Christmas songs start to inflate the market) - but with the January resets now given to anything which went to ACR in December, that's not really an issue anymore, and the rule just appears to be adding to the staleness.
