Good it's doing decent on some chart, it does deserve some success.

If physicals were all done with the first week release it could have easily hit top 40 in Australia I am sure.

In the UK? I think even with physicals, streaming and downloads in week 1 it’d probably struggle to make the Top 100.

 

She would need to shift 16,000+ for a Top 20.

If we're talking UK, then I agree that even the Top 100 with a "throw everything at week 1" approach would have been an extremely tall order. A £22 vinyl single (before factoring in p&p charge) is probably going to sell in the hundreds, not the thousands.

 

Even if this single had had cheap-ish CDs available, I still struggle to imagine it selling enough to have made the Top 100.

 

The thing is, its downloads and streaming in week 1 would have been quite low, so there's a big deficit to make up with physical sales. As far as I know, #100 could require as much as 5,000 sales? So Dannii would probably have needed to sell over 4,000 of these theoretical CDs to scrape Top 100.

 

I'm sure it's a similar story for Australia though, that Top 20 would be difficult to achieve.

That is a tall order for Dannii.

Not even artists such as Dua Lipa, Lewis Capaldi and Ed Sheeran can' sell physicals in such high numbers.

Dannii doing a number 98 peak would be incredible and maybe possible with some huge push but top 20 will never happen.

Also, Neon nights is an album. Album and singles charts are totally different beasts. An artist can get a top 40 album but not a top 100 single.

 

Dannii could probably release a new album and get a top 40 or maybe even a top 20 album. Maybe even top 10 album depending on the sales for the week.

 

I think Dannii could get a top 100 single hun but she would need everything thrown at it in week 1. Video, streaming, download, cds, vinyls hun, maybe even remixes in week 1 as well.

I think the only way Dannii could appear on the singles chart again is if she featured on a track by somebody like Joel Corry, which ain't never gonna happen.

 

For all intents and purposes this is almost like a Joel Corry track anyway.

A feature would be Danniis best shot for appearing on the singles chart. I won't say it will never happen but I would say it's very unlikely.
