Inspired by the recent thread in the chart forum, what are your favourite eponymous top 40 hits? I've limited this to songs where the title exactly matches the artist, otherwise it becomes a minefield. Hopefully I haven't missed anything from that thread.

It's also quite interesting to see how commonly this happened in the 90s and yet there's only been one instance since 2005.

Not someone voting for Mr Blobby in the first 4 votes  it's the worst number one of all time!
I wanted to just do the dance ones (Tricky Disco, LFO et al) but Talk Talk and The Scotts are just too damn good!
Mr Blobby and Schnappi

Living in a Box is the best! also voted for Deep Forest

Deep Forest and Deepest Blue are both amazing.

There's also an amazing remix of Absolutely Fabulous that I used to listen to.

I'm surprised there's so many of these tbh.

Voted for Talk Talk, Living In A Box, LFO, Doop, The Age Of Love, Gouryella, Ayla, Schnappi (:cheeseblock:) and THE SCOTTS B-)
Fascinating list! One artist named after a Fleetwood Mac song; one Eurovision track; one track just a pseudonym for the Pet Shop Boys.

the 2005-2020 gap is kinda bizarre

we always had self-titled songs and then 15 years with none

One God awful number one.

One God awful number one.

Both Doop and Mr. Blobby are God awful surely?

Delighted to see Gouryella doing well.

I also voted for LFO and Quadrophonia.
