When the Sugababes did it earlier in the year it was a current single, a classic single and a cover track. I'd imagine they'll follow the same format here though it could be extended/special for the l

I was thinking about the new songs and this article. Could it be that he had finalized the album already last year and they thought the movie would raise the profile of Rob in the USA plus give him mo

Oh! is this because of Taylor Swift do you think?

Or does he need a break after all the touring?

Wow! Half of year shifting??

It's a big surprise for me.

Well, then waiting for the tour in Latin America, Super Bowl, a joint single with Oasis and Taylor Swift, 4-dates in Knebworth next year and then "it will be worth the wait" )))

By the way, I just remind you somebody told us not releasing before was connected to BM movie... At least I see 0% connections by now.

Rather strange but waiting, of course!

Unless the shift in timing is being made for personal reasons it makes no sense . The tickets for the Camden gig go on sale tomorrow ( unless they cancel same today ) which now seems rather odd given the album release has now shifted by six months.

I very much doubt it's anything to do with getting a No 1 album, it would be different if Robbie was a young artist starting out & needed those No 1's, that is not the case as Robbie is an established artist who makes most of his money from touring .

if the album launch goes ahead in Camden next month hopefully we will know more by then .

Robbie is also due to do the BBC Radio Live Lounge on OCT 9th, will that go ahead.

This album release date has always been open to question given they were waiting for ages for the Better Man release. Robbie has probably got fed up of it by now & has already started working on the next album . 😂

I wonder if Robbie will tour South America/ Australia next year , is that the reason for the delay in releasing the album

This is the video from Drum Social Podcast where Karl briefly mentions a possible album date change so there must have been on-going uncertainty about the release date

One thing I have learnt over the years been a big Robbie fan is that Robbie does not get emotionally attached to his albums like the fans do . he creates an album & then wants to move on to the next thing as soon as possible so who knows what the reason is or if we will ever really find out unless someone like Karl spills the beans 🤷

Another thought may be that the record company insisted on changing the release date, I have no idea how these things work but based on what Karl said the date was never a definite even though Robbie's team had indicated otherwise to fans on rw.com

I agree with you when you say Robbie is not that attached to albums etc. But I still think everything went upside down after the lack of success of the movie. It was planned great: Successful Movie, album release with a huge success in Europe and at least a considerable success in the USA and Canada, then the tour, Hopeium etc going hand in hand. With the lack of BM success they already needed to re-schedule. I am happy that at least the tour so far was something he is proud off and everyone I heard enjoyed. To postpone the album now again, might be based on the TS release. But then he might have been a good snd or third and one of the next album releases would bring him the record of having the most number ones.

Do other artists move release dates around to ensure they are number one? Doesn't that make it rather hollow?

That is a genuine question as I have no idea.

If it's not that -I wonder what is going on?

Maybe he doesn't have the energy to do all the promo following the tour?

It's also odd that the gigs seem to be going ahead - is he going to sing an album that no one can buy until February?

I do not believe it's anything to do with trying to manipulate the field to achieve a number one album. If that alone is the reason then it's a stupid one 🤷‍♀️.

The upcoming live gig is a combination of Life Thru a Lens & Britpop & given there is a lot of nostalgia around 90's music at the moment have they decided to change the format of the new album to maybe incorporate some material from his 90's albums . I personally would love that but I guess we have to wait & see what happens. . Looks like album release FEB with tour continuing next year .

Robbie Williams delays album release to avoid Taylor Swift clash

Robbie Williams has delayed the release of his album Britpop to avoid a clash with Taylor Swift.

The Angels hitmaker was due to bring out his 13th solo record on October 10 - just a week after Taylor's much-anticipated album The Life of a Showgirl drops - but has now pushed the release back to February 2026. Those who have pre-ordered Britpop this week received an e-mail that reads: "Due to scheduling changes, Britpop will now be released on February 6, 2026."

Robbie will surpass The Beatles as the artist with the most chart-topping albums should Britpop reach the summit but going up against Taylor could scupper his ambitions.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: “Robbie will go down in the history books if he scores another No1 he’s not taking any chances. "Taylor is undoubtedly the biggest artist in the world right now and her first-week sales are sure to eclipse any other artist who has released a record in recent years. "The sales will still be massive in the second week, so Robbie and his team decided it’s better to just move the release date. "The new date in February has actually opened up loads more exciting opportunities, so there will be a lot happening in the New Year."

Meanwhile, Robbie admitted last month that he would relish the chance to open for Oasis. The 51-year-old singer famously feuded with both Noel and Liam Gallagher but admits that he would jump at the opportunity to share the stage with the Don't Look Back in Anger rockers on their Oasis Live '25 tour. He told ITV News: "I would open for Oasis.

"In this moment that they’re having right now, they are omnipresent and they are the peak Zeitgeist.

"I can’t compete with that. So I would, I would open for Oasis. We’re not exactly friends, but I don’t think we’re enemies."

Despite being branded as the "fat dancer from Take That" by Noel back in 2000, Robbie has often spoken of his love of Oasis and pays homage to the Britpop era with his latest album.

The Rock DJ singer said: "I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music. I’ve worked with some of my heroes on this album; it’s raw, there are more guitars and it’s an album that’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. There’s some ‘Brit’ in there and there’s certainly some ‘pop’ too - I’m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I’m excited for fans to hear this album. I also can’t wait to perform a song or two from it on my upcoming Britpop tour, which I’m opening in the UK, naturally."

If anything, he should’ve brought the release forward to tomorrow as there’s nothing big out tomorrow

Does seem a bit sketchy like it is about getting a number 1 if it wasn't then why February which is always a dead time of the year

Does he no longer believe he is the big q4 seller he used to be

" Further Long 90's shows will be announced soon " 😊

Maybe he simply did the math with touring going so well that he can do SA and Australia with this extended greatest hit tour (I mean it is a great tour vibe but it is a great hits tour). He is doing a small UK tour whatever small means and then the other legs and like it is said possibly is already on the next album.

If it could be me, I would do this:

  • Release the album on October, 9 in Digital format only. Then fans will be happy anyway.

  • Do series of mini Britpop Long 90s concerts this Autumn.

  • Do 1-2 concerts in Dubai around NY as a tradition already

  • Release LP version of the album on February, 6.

  • Do Brits participation

  • Do South American leg with Britpop theme.

Then he would get Number 1 in February but we could listen to the album on time.

You know, the digital one is not giving him too much sales.

That would be too short notice for the physical release, I'd imagine.

Biffy Clyro's new album is out today. Obviously Robbie would sell more, but they're definitely big!

I think JLS are the only artists who stopped Robbie having a number 1 album. If they went for round 2, Robbie would thrash JLS

I still do love Robbie and his music and quite some bits of his persona, but I am not getting any of the business decisions of the family Williams:

Not Ayda's clothing line, not Hopeium, not the monkey in BM nor the fact that they had no plan B in case the movie would flop, not the fact that he does not tour South America and not that he does not release despite Taylor and becomes a great number 2 and have a new album next year as he has a lot of material he always says. His personal situation I understand, but we all have to work when our parents get sick and die and it is the hardest. But he also did not see his father for a long time despite he was so sick. I do not saya that this is not all a reason, I only say I do not see any planning or strategy.

It's rarely straight forward when it comes to Robbie Elisabeth .. His main focus is his song-writing, the rest he dips his toe into every now & then. The artwork though I feel will continue as it's something he has done for a long time
