Sia’s new single Dance Alone – from upcoming album Reasonable Woman - is a collaboration with Kylie Minogue. It will be a surprise if it doesn’t become Minogue 61st hit and Sia’s 26th – but not this week, as it didn’t drop till Wednesday. It does, however, enter the digital downloads chart at No.17 (647 sales)

I’m kinda anxious to see how it did on Spotify today. I hope a download campaign takes off, the first week is always likely to be the peak, I know Padam obviously bucked that trend but that’s the exception!

I hope it charts but at the same time if it doesn’t then meh - neither artists are streaming powerhouses so a midweek release just hinders them more (as we’ve seen from Kylie multiple times).

 

They’ve ‘given away’ almost 700 paid for sales plus missed streams as a result which could mean the difference between a chart entry or not.

To be fair, the majority of Kylie's charting BMG singles didn't actually peak in their first week (although with some they were aided by a physical release later down the line)

Worldwide Itunes new peak of 6. Just USA sadly letting it down badly in this chart

 

i'm very excited about this release. Sia and Kylie obviously have more to come here and with some radio play and good playlists + a video to come could should easily get it charting

 

Sia does have a solid streaming base. Its hanging around high on some European Itunes charts too which Kylie songs do not often do.

 

Back up to 5 on UK Itunes having dropped to 6. BBC Radio 2 should get it a few plays tomorrow and some downloads.

 

Have also seen quite a few people on X and Insta and some boards saying the song has grown on them

I am guessing the video is all Kylie. She uses the wigs to disguise herself mimming the Sia bits and then does her own bits too. Probably totally wrong haha
