Maybe we can hope for top 100 with no playlisting support or physicals? Just on the back of Sia and Kylie fan base?

I’ve been listening to it for a while now and I like it. It’s a simple song, less than 3min and catchy for the casual listener. Not everything needs to be a well produced lush dance song. Plus, as it’s the first taster of sia’s first album in over 7 yrs, it’s definitely getting good media coverage

Gimme Love says hi.

Gimme love was about 5mo ago and at the time, wasn’t linked to a brand new Sia album, no album release date, etc. But the Kylie collab has come with the “first album in 7 yrs” headline so it’s definitely getting headlines.

Am a bit worried that it hasn't gone on any Spotify playlists yet, not even small ones lol. Hopefully we see it on NMF Australia in a few hours
Well there’s a few hrs before NM UK is announced right?

Yes the NMFs playlists it should appear in most of those even if low down..... lets hope its top 10 on some of those lists. Then maybe it will get added to a few dance ones from then.

Hoping the video comes out Friday on Youtube too for extra streams

Agree this feels like the ‘main’ song to launch the campaign and the previous one was a ‘hello I’m back’ kinda moment.

Pitty they didn't just release release to streaming yesterday and downloads tomorrow, I think that would have worked better.

It’s SUCH a bizarre strategy for any artist to follow and I really don’t understand it, yes you get your song out before the Friday rush but I’ve yet to see any major benefits to that or that it gets you better playlist support etc.,

I think it only works for really huge artists (ala Taylor Swift etc.,) that have enough of a fanbase that they can pull off a midweek release, for everyone else it’s just a ‘waste’ of sales in terms of potential chart purposes.

The Wednesday release for the album to get some pre-orders etc. Hopefully they will push the single from tomorrow too.

It could either fall by the way side as a buzz single to promote the album or they could go all in and have video, remixes and even a physical coming

We will have to wait and see. Its a Sia release and i think they go for Streaming more. Dance Alone is her first Itunes number 1 in the UK!

first necessity is the NMF playlists. Lets pray

^^ I understand the whole album tie in - here’s my new album and a new song moment, but like you say the song can then end up becoming a bit of a buzz track and again I’m not convinced that dropping an album pre-order along with a track on a Wednesday afternoon has any major benefit over doing it on a Friday.

I guess the ultimate aim for the majority of artists is album sales though and singles are a bit of a commodity to shift some units of said album and create some excitement within the fanbase.

Maybe it has something to do with Market priority?

The song definitely dropped late for the the UK charts but I think it is very early in the USA charting week and the start of the Australian charting week, give or take a few hours.

Not sure about other countries.

I am probably off the mark, but maybe Sia is prioritising the US and Australian markets because she does have some traction in the US and Kylie does now too and off course both being Aussie :Shrugs: just a guess

It was definitely dropped at midnight New York Time so it definitely was something timed for that but its been a subtle pre-release album. I am not familiar with Sia release strategies etc. It could also have got lost in all the Grammys drama etc

Lets see what happens next. i would like to see a video and playlistings and maybe a few radio stations playing to see how serious it will be as a proper single.

What i liked about PP release (obviously a Kylie not Sia release) is the push it got quickly from video release, to memes, to playlists etc to extended mix drop etc and 59p drop etc.

Needs to keep some momentum into new release Friday. Hopefully Kylie fans have held back and will purchase it Friday to keep it noticed on the itunes chart

Give it a few more.

For me it's getting better and better esvh play. An anthem

Think Wes & Craig coming for the itunes number 1 shortly , hopefully not though.

She is top of Spotify NMF Australia on my list but can someone in Aus confirm where she is really when as i have a lot of time zones to go through before all the songs are added to that list!
