February 8, 20241 yr Kudos to her record company for getting her just about everywhere in 2024....cashing in on the residency and extended time in the usa
February 8, 20241 yr Regardless of how high PP charted or how much Tension sold, the nicest thing about the US response to her this era has been openly complimenting her legacy in the industry, the UK chart records, etc. There's a sense of respect, aura and a "we Americans missed the Kylie train" feeling in the interviews. I'm loving that. Grammy win is icing on the cake.
February 8, 20241 yr Fab! and on my birthday too :cheer: With this and Sophie doing her BAFTA performance on the same night, I've literally got my two faves with high-profile performance slots on my birthday

February 19, 20241 yr Great performance and Kylie seems to be really enjoying everything atm, I just wish her promo trail in the US would result in something… anything in terms of chart success, album sales, Spotify listeners etc
February 19, 20241 yr Maybe the best introduction before performing that Kylie’s ever had? *.* @1759425332967555232 Now I did enjoy the performance, but in an ideal world she wouldn’t sound so nasal when singing it live. She’s no stranger to being nasal but somehow I feel like this song in particular brings that bad habit out of her.

I know what you mean hun, this song does seem to bring that singing style out of her more but I dont know if it is a bad habit or just now a sound that she just has as she has got older. Although saying that she doesnt always have it. I do agree though, this song does seem to bring it out of her more. Maybe it is the pitch of the song? I did really enjoy the performance as well hun and she sounds great live as per usual Just Carol Honey ❤️
February 19, 20241 yr That’s the problem though - the few ever times she gets to perform on us tv, she sounds so incredibly raw and nasal. Not saying she doesn’t sound nasal in UK TV perfs but they’re more used to it as they’ve seen her sing from 1988. Whilst I love PP, I don’t think last nights perf would want to make any casual fan go and listen to the song

Would people prefer she mimed!!!!!!
February 19, 20241 yr This is the way she sounds. People can take it or leave it as this stage. Would people prefer she mimed!!!!!! This hun This is the way she sounds in some keys I quite like it now, she sounds unique and I just think it depends on the key of the song because she doesnt always sound that way, deoending on the pitch hun But I am fine with it Just Carol Honey ❤️
February 19, 20241 yr We like it and that’s fine. But we just have to live w the reality that her live voice may not incentivise the casual music listener or awards viewer to listen pronto
February 19, 20241 yr Regarding miming : certainly not to a studio version, but I’d be fine if she sang to pre recorded vocals like she’s done before (like in TOTP post 2000), especially IF her and the label’s goal is to attract more casual music listeners to her music through booking her for live perfs at events.
