Biography

After building up buzz independently and attracting a growing fan base, Ohio singer, songwriter, and artist Michael Marcagi announces his signing to Warner Records. Today, he unveils his new single, entitled “Scared To Start.” On the anticipated new track, which has received an overwhelmingly positive response on TikTok, bright guitar echoes through a steady tambourine-driven beat. Marcagi’s dynamic delivery takes hold on the verses, while his storytelling immediately transfixes. “‘Scared to Start’ is a song for the adventurers, the travelers, and the people who look forward without dwelling on the uncertainties of life,” Marcagi says of the track. “It's about taking the risks and putting yourself out of your comfort zone, regardless of what the rest of the world has to say.” Michael recently made waves with his first solo single, the fan-favorite “The Other Side.” Since its release last month, the track has gathered millions of streams and counting. Right now, he’s preparing more music for release in 2024. Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael Marcagi arrives with an emotional and engaging tale to tell. He emerges out of the heartland as an eloquent, artful songwriter and captivating storyteller with a whole lot to say. - Warner Records

Biography

UK duo Good Neighbours release their stunning debut anthem “Home”, a heartfelt, confidently sensitive ode to friendship that charts an exciting course to come for the Londoners. “Darling, won't you take me home. Hoo-ooo-me…!” Zane Lowe rang in the release with rave reviews and the coveted World First spotlight slot in his January 17th Apple Music show – “Another massive thing happening out of London… Good Neighbors. You cannot go wrong with a whistle hook. I love that.” The band says “We wanted to write a song about the moment you hold a loved one after some time apart. It's such a small moment that has always sparked a visceral feeling for me. So we played with the idea of finding home within another human x” Good Neighbours is a band born out of small towns and spare time. Scott and Oli have neighbouring studios at their building in East London, and first began making music for the project together out of the desire to make something positive and unpolished in a scene where most music felt quite mellow and intimate. Over the course of 2023, they consistently began making music for the love of making music, and only midway through the year decided to create the band to release under. With an urge to rekindle the early 2000's scene of Passion Pit / MGMT etc, Good Neighbours nod to classic songwriting and raucous production, inspired by A24, friendship and a cinematic approach to music. - Boradway World

Biography

“I still wanna be one of the greats,“ rapper Jack Harlow tells Apple Music about his commitment to his craft. “I’m very ambitious about this. And I think I have what it takes to really make a mark because I love the art.” Harlow, born in 1998 in Kentucky, is well on his way to turning that dream into reality. Growing up in Louisville, Harlow started writing and rapping at the age of 12 and released his bouncy first EP before graduating from school in late 2015. Since his more fully realised mixtape, 18, dropped in 2016, Harlow has continued to inject his chill party rap and poppy beats with “addictive, candy-coated qualities,” as he described it to Apple Music. “It’s good on the ears.” With 2017’s Gazebo, he established a more mature sound, moodily riding through his hometown with the intense “Dark Knight” and keeping things dreamy using synth pulses on the regret-laden “Wasted Youth”. It’s a vibe he honed on multiple mixtapes in the late 2010s, keeping with a feel he says is representative of Louisville—smooth and laidback—while exploring elements of trap, which is native to his adopted home base of Atlanta. With every beat on 2020’s punchy, swaggering Sweet Action, Harlow moved closer to the place he sees as his inevitable destination: “On top.” - Apple Music

Kanye West

Ye (/jeɪ/ YAY; born Kanye Omari West /ˈkɑːnjeɪ/ KAHN-yay; June 8, 1977) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and fashion designer. One of the world's best-selling music artists with 160 million records sold, West has won 24 Grammy Awards, the joint tenth-most of all time and most awarded for any hip hop artist jointly with Jay-Z. His other accolades include a Billboard Artist Achievement Award, a joint-record three Brit Awards for Best International Male Solo Artist and the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. West's first six solo albums—The College Dropout (2004), Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), 808s & Heartbreak (2008), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), and Yeezus (2013)—were included on Rolling Stone's 2020 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list with the same publication naming him one of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time.[3] He also released the collaborative albums Watch the Throne (2011) with Jay-Z and Kids See Ghosts (2018) with Kid Cudi. West holds the joint record (with Bob Dylan) for most albums (4) topping the annual Pazz & Jop critic poll. Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2005 and 2015. As a fashion designer, he has collaborated with Nike, Inc., Louis Vuitton, Gap Inc., and A.P.C. on clothing and footwear and led the Yeezy collaboration with Adidas. West's outspoken views have received significant media coverage. He has been a frequent source of controversy due to his conduct on social media and at awards shows and public settings, as well as his comments on the music and fashion industries, U.S. politics, race, and slavery. His Christian faith, high-profile marriage to Kim Kardashian, and mental health have also been topics of media attention. In 2020, West launched an unsuccessful independent presidential campaign which advocated for a consistent life ethic. In October 2022, he was widely condemned and lost many sponsors and partnerships—including his collaborations with Adidas, Gap, and Balenciaga—after making a series of antisemitic statements, including denying the Holocaust. - Wikipedia

Ty Dolla $ign

When charting the intertwined evolutions of R&B and hip-hop over the 2010s, there’s a simple rule: Follow the money, or, rather, the Dolla $ign. Born in L.A. in 1982, Tyrone Griffin Jr.—a.k.a. Ty Dolla $ign—was blessed early on with an eclectic skill set that made him more than just another aspiring MC. As the son of a musician (his father played with ’80s funk legends Lakeside of “Fantastic Voyage” fame), Ty was already a seasoned multi-instrumentalist and producer when he scored his first success providing the throwback-soul hook and dusty-vinyl groove to YG’s 2010 hit “Toot It and Boot It.” Alongside the L.A. rapper, Ty began drifting toward the more minimalist sound of the West Coast’s burgeoning ratchet movement; he recorded his 2014 solo debut, Beach House, with the genre’s architect, DJ Mustard, who delivered his signature synth spikes and ice-picked drum-machine beats on cool club jams like “Paranoid” and “Oh Nah.” But while Ty can adopt the staccato flow and salacious storytelling of a rugged MC, there is a sensitivity and smoothness to his delivery that keeps him rooted in R&B. “I feel like there’s not one Ty Dolla $ign song that you could name where I’m just doing a full-on rap,” he told Apple Music. “I don’t rap—I sing.” Fitting for an artist who’s equally at home trading bars with Nicki Minaj, guesting with Nick Jonas, and crafting choruses for blink-182’s Travis Barker, Ty Dolla $ign would land his first No. 1 single by teaming up with the veritable poster boy for post-internet genre fluidity: Post Malone. On their 2018 chill-hop smash, “Psycho,” Ty sings, “This ain’t happen overnight/No, these diamonds real bright”—a victory-lap address from an artist who spent a decade putting in the work and is now reaping the rewards. - Apple Music

Lovin On Me's chart run is so funny to look at. Imagine trying to explain that to someone from 15 years ago  (alright it's not the worst example, look at Cruel Summer)
I am now fully sold on this! I liked it but I properly love it now! What a brill song!

A bit meh that the fresher and climbing songs from Good Neighbours and Michael Marcagi were skipped in favour of the Sonny Fodera and Jack Harlow...!

Exes is still a massive bop, deserved a higher peak but glad it's sticking around at least!
Why didn't she wait until the new year?

Soooo annoying and "run for the hills" would have likely gone Top 20/30 too
