I can't believe you've gone to such a herculean effort to try and prove a point over something so trivial. What a sad case.

Pitchfork just gave it One of the lowest scores in recent times, a 5, which is very low for their standards

I actually thought they were not even gonna review it like they did with the last from Ed, pretend it doesnt exist

I haven't listened to this album. I don't really want to. But it looks like it's going to do okay based on the mid-weeks. Probably won't hit 20k though.

@Liam Sota - I admire your dedication to the person who appears to be your fave current act. But maybe slightly tone it down, just to save yourself some face?

Unless, of course, you are just taking the pi$$ and then job done

I do think this album will age very well. Sales are not good but the true test will be once the hate dissipates and people give it a fair listen

Tom Macdonald gets a load of streams and positive comments... doesn't mean his career aged well.

You have to have a good eye for these things. Tom Macdonald has no talent at all

Eye for things ? It's music thought you used your ears 🤣

What do you mean by "You have to have a good eye for these things"?

You need to know when something is genuine the vibe the trend the people. Anyone can say anything online and anyone can be a flash in the pan. This is not either of those things. People are listening to it and saying it’s the best album they’ve heard all year that’s a genuine reaction from credible people in big numbers

There's also a huge amount of supporters I've seen for Tom Macdonald! But just like Alex Warren, they have a lot more haters with genuine opinions and you can't discard that fact.

If the "vibe" "the trend" was good surely more people would be actually listening to more than a couple of the songs 😅

Gave in and finally gave it a listen, eternity aside the new half is very weak, he should of left it as a chapter 1

Good see the album go to number 1

Also 1 in Ireland

#1 cheer

It's a good family-friendly album. Something I can put on the background and not worry about the lyrical content at all.

I want something like this every now and then.

OK here's an impartial review from someone who's not a hater: me.

I really enjoyed part 1 of the album last year and 'Burning Down' and 'Bloodline' are two of my favourite songs of 2025. But the new songs (i.e. part 2 of the album released last week) are definitely a lot weaker on the whole than the first part. Singles aside, I really like a couple of the upbeat ones ('Getaway Car' in particular) but the other songs sound a bit beige and boring tbh. I'm a bit disappointed as I was expecting better!

I guess it’s a fair review since you’re not a hater.

I’ll give a rank by rank

Eternity - I’m sure this either resonated in a hardcore way or is the ideal background to a compilation or movie it’s quite hard to this good and powerful so anything than than a 10 would be wrong

10/10

The Outside - It’s alright, a bit more upbeatish

7.5/10

First Time On Earth - This might actually be the most powerful song ever created. It’s up there with John Lennon’s imagine.

10/10

Bloodline - It’s great surprised it never really took off in the charts

9/10

Never Be Far - Bit so-so this one I like it but overshadowed by the others

7.5/10

Ordinary - The numbers speak for themselves the biggest hit since shape of you but a much better song

10/10

Everything - Had to listen to this one again to remember what it sounds like. It’s ok.

6/10

Getaway Car - It’s definitely a better song than Taylor Swift’s but not vintage Alex

8.5/10

Who I Am - Yeah alright. If this was a single wouldn’t make top 100 though.

5.5/10

You can’t stop this - Very cool song

8/10

On my mind - The more I hear this the more average it sounds honestly. This song isn’t even on the vinyls or CD

4/10

Overall I’ve upgraded to 9.5/10 Album. The second half is a solid 8/10

Actually laughed out loud at the Imagine comment. Especially having listened to the song.

Also, how do you get to a 9.5 / 10?

Your rankings add up to 82 / 100, so that's an 8.2 / 10.

You say the second half is 8/10, so the two added together becomes an average of 8.1/10.

That's some hefty "upgrading" to 9.5

^ I make it 86/110 (there's actually 11 songs) which is an even lower average score of 78.18/100, so that's 7.8/10 overall! Not sure how he gets anywhere near 9.5 lol
