Oh Metallica is my biggest loss so far

I'm a Prince fan in general but have never been able to get into 'Kiss' much for some reason

Metallica easily the best of those three. There's only a handful of Metallica songs I care for and 'Nothing Else Matters' is a classic!

It was the first version of Don't You Want Me in 1992 that reached number 6. Two different remixes returned the song to the top 20, one in 1995 (number 10) and another in 1996 (number 17). It samples 'Don't You Want My Love' by Jomanda. Felix's real name is Francis Wright.

This is the second of the two finalists from the current decade. Accidentally interpolating 'Need You Tonight' by INXS, it was Dua Lipa's ninth top 10 single.

From 2003, Maybe was Emma Bunton's fifth solo top 10 hit. It was the second single from her second album 'Free Me'. The first three releases from that album peaked neatly at 5, 6 and 7.

Was the INXS interpolation actually accidental? It sounds way too deliberate!

The wiki page says it was written and recorded in one night and they only noticed the similarity after they listened to the finished result. Not wanting to be sued, they gave writing credits to Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence.

Break My Heart is the weakest Future Nostalgia single by a long way for me so fine with that going out. Maybe on the other hand is one of my favourite 00s pop songs: I think she carried the retro style incredibly well and a Spice coming out with something that great by late 2003 not even as a lead single was so unexpected.

And all three of those releases are total bops! Although I think 'Free Me' and 'I'll Be There' just edge it over 'Maybe' for me. Probably the best three consecutive single runs by a Solo Spice.

Listening now and I may have been a bit harsh giving Emma one point, it’s not that bad.

32. Roxette – Listen to Your Heart / Dangerous 836pts

Listen To Your Heart only reached number 62 in 1989 but was reissued the following year as a double A side with another previous single, Dangerous, after the success of 'It Must Have Been Love' which was a top 3 hit. Listen To Your Heart was the first song to reach number one in the US without a commercially released 7-inch single, all its sales were on cassette. Dangerous did almost as well there, reaching number 2.

This was the first of seven top 40 hits for the British dance act. One of its members, Paul Oakenfold, has already seen two of his songs go out in the first round, 'Starry Eyed Surprise' and 'Reach Up (Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag)' under different names. Not Over Yet was a hit in 1995 with vocals by Patti Low and then a new version reached number 16 in 1999 with vocals by Dominique Atkins. One 50 point score means it wins a tie-break over the Roxette single.

30. Laura Branigan - Gloria 842pts

Gloria was first recorded by one of its writers, the Italian Umberto Tozzi, in 1979 with an English version featuring lyrics by Jonathan King who also recorded the song himself, reaching number 65. The lyrics were changed again by Trevor Veitch to suit a female singer for Laura Branigan's version in 1982. It was the first of her two top 10 singles and reaches our own top 30 as a wild card from the first round.

My introduction to 'Not Over Yet' was via that Klaxons cover in 2007 but eventually found my way to the original, great song.

'Listen To Your Heart' Roxette were the soundtrack to my youth and that song is their absolute magnum opus. One of my favourite songs ever, just love everything about it from the intro, those power chords, the middle eight, the guitar solo. I could go on but I won't...

'Dangerous' in comparison is very mediocre for them!

Elsewhere, 'Gloria' is a pretty decent 80s tune and 'Not Over Yet' is a fine example of Paul Oakenfold's work even if I enjoy The Klaxons' cover of it just as much.
