January 14Jan 14 On the Now collectors group on Facebook, the next yearbook is rumoured to be 1998 unexpected
January 14Jan 14 unexpected I knew the next yearbook would be 90s. I just hope that 1989 is next before they do a 70s yearbook
January 14Jan 14 I knew the next yearbook would be 90s. I just hope that 1989 is next before they do a 70s yearbook I knew it would be 90s just didn't expect 1998
January 14Jan 14 I knew it would be 90s just didn't expect 1998 Same. I was hoping for 1991 or 1995. I hope that 1995 is the other 90s yearbook we get later this year. I expect it to be that because of the 30th anniversary
January 15Jan 15 Seeing as the next yearbook is looking to be 1998, I hope next week that they announce vault 1982
January 16Jan 16 Now Yearbook 1998 plus track list - out 21st Feb https://www.facebook.com/share/p/161hFMJjvQ/?mibextid=K35XfP
January 16Jan 16 Now Yearbook 1998 plus track list - out 21st Feb https://www.facebook.com/share/p/161hFMJjvQ/?mibextid=K35XfP The release date is actually 14th February and I’m looking forward to it and bring on the extra edition which will most likely be released 28th March
January 16Jan 16 Savage Garden, Stardust and LeAnn Rimes feel like surprising exclusions. I wouldn't have expected to see Pras or Aerosmith as they are never compiled although I'd have loved to have seen them. Surprised To You I Belong was picked over Rollercoaster, but not complaining. Overall, it's not a bad album with quite a few more inspired picks than I expected, and several songs maybe more suited to the extra (Gloria Estefan, Tina Arena, Adam Garcia). Nice to see Dana International get a spot, it was easily one of the big news stories of the year that she won Eurovision. Maybe Imaani will be on the Extra. They were really spoilt for choice with 1998. Edited January 16Jan 16 by gooddelta
January 16Jan 16 NOW 120 might be announced in mid-March... I hope it gets announced on 6th or 13th March and released on 4th or 11th April. They won’t release it on 18th April as they don’t release numbered Nows on Good Friday and they’ll most likely be releasing 12" 1984 part 2 on that day and 25th April seems too late for a spring Now
January 16Jan 16 I’m pretty pleased with that. A couple of flops I don’t remember from big names-but that’s par for the course with these releases. Most of the big hits are present and I definitely look forward to getting it! Gooddelta, on Stardust, when was the last time that track made a Now? Or any compilation? That most recent things I remember seeing it on is the Now 1998 in the Millennium series-over 25 years ago! Surprised there’s no Feel It or Horny but maybe they’re saved for the Extra? January 16Jan 16 Gooddelta, on Stardust, when was the last time that track made a Now? Or any compilation? That most recent things I remember seeing it on is the Now 1998 in the Millennium series-over 25 years ago! They did make the Annual XXV from MOS in 2019
January 16Jan 16 Gooddelta, on Stardust, when was the last time that track made a Now? Or any compilation? That most recent things I remember seeing it on is the Now 1998 in the Millennium series-over 25 years ago! You're right, it does rarely appear anywhere, apart from on the occasional MOS retrospective, so not sure why I was that surprised. I hoped since it was re-released digitally a few years back that they'd have been able to get the rights. The Extra will hopefully be stacked too. I don't think they've done a bad job with 1998 at all, there was such a lot to choose from that there was bound to be loads missing. A little bit self indulgent but here are all the songs in my own top 40 favourites of 1998 that didn't make the cut on here: The Corrs - So Young (Maybe on the Extra? - but they will more likely pick What Can I Do) Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar (doubt they even considered it, but would be happy to see it on the Extra) Ace Of Base - Always Have, Always Will (Also could be on the Extra?) Tin Tin Out - Here's Where The Story Ends (hopefully Extra too, but should have been on main as the biggest airplay hit of the year) Boyzone - All That I Need (Extra?) Savage Garden - To The Moon and Back (unlicensable?) Madonna - The Power of Goodbye (unlicensable) Honeyz - End Of The Line (Extra?) Lutricia McNeal - Stranded (Extra?) The Corrs - What Can I Do (Extra?) Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (maybe they didn't consider it for 1998 as it wasn't exactly huge back then) LeAnn Rimes - How Do I Live (who knows what happened here, as it usually makes the Now Country releases) Madonna - Frozen (unlicensable) Jennifer Paige - Crush (Extra hopefully?) Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply (Not seen on a UK compilation since Now 20th Century so probably unlicensable now) E-17 - Each Time (Extra?) Boyzone - I Love The Way You Love Me (Extra? Or maybe they'll just go with All That I Need, for once the Extra could have loads of No.1s) Aerosmith - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing (unlicensable for sure, only ever appeared on a Love compilation and a Movies compilation in the late 90s) Five - Until The Time Is Through (Extra? But not sure it will get a look in over Everybody Get Up and When The Lights Go Out) Robbie Williams - No Regrets (Extra? I'd have put Angels on 1997 and picked between this and Let Me Entertain You to go with Millennium on 1998 but it seems they choose based on peak year going by this and Never Ever) Steps - Heartbeat/Tragedy (Extra, or more likely left for 1999 when it peaked) Lutricia McNeal - Someone Loves You Honey (doubt it will be on Extra...we'll be lucky if we get Stranded) Karen Ramirez - Looking For Love (I reckon this is unlicensable, the radio edit isn't even on Spotify in its hit remix) As an aside, I'm going to praise some sequencing decisions - Meja/Ace of Base/The Corrs is a dream for me, Norman Cook remix/Fatboy Slim/Fatboy Slim remix is great, as are the Bee Gees covers on Disc 4, although One For Sorrow before them when it could have been Tragedy to make it a trio. Simply Red/Aretha Franklin/Robyn though, not such a good transition, but I'm glad to see the latter on there and tbh I've always liked that Simply Red song too. Edited January 16Jan 16 by gooddelta
January 16Jan 16 I’ve made a list of the missing songs which will most likely appear on the extra edition Spice Girls - Goodbye All Saints - Lady Marmalade All Saints - Under The Bridge Aqua - My Oh My Five - When The Lights Go Out Five - Everybody Get Up Five - Until The Time Is Through Boyzone - All That I Need Boyzone - I Love The Way You Love Me Steps - 5,6,7,8 Steps - Heartbeat Robbie Williams - Let Me Entertain You Robbie Williams - No Regrets Jennifer Paige - Crush Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You Ace Of Base - Always Have, Always Will Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds - Three Lions '98 Hanson - Weird Sash! - La Primavera Sash! featuring Shannon - Move Mania Oasis - Half The World Away The Tamperer - Feel It The Tamperer - If You Buy This Record Your Life Will Be Better B*Witched - Rollercoaster Billie Piper - Girlfriend Billie Piper - She Wants You Spacedust - Gym And Tonic Savage Garden - To The Moon And Back Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply LeAnn Rimes - How Do I Live Mousse T vs Hot 'N' Juicy - Horny Camisra - Let Me Show You Lighthouse Family - High Lighthouse Family - Lost In Space T-Spoon - Sex On The Beach Sham Rock - Tell Me Ma Tin Tin Out featuring Shelley Nelson - Here’s Where The Story Ends Space featuring Cerys Matthews - The Ballad Of Tom Jones Catatonia - Road Rage Texas - Insane Massive Attack - Teardrop Bamboo - Bamboogie Lutricia McNeal - Someone Loves You Honey Cleopatra - Life Ain’t Easy Cleopatra - I Want You Back Karen Ramirez - Looking For Love Mansun - Legacy Touch & Go - Would You…? January 16Jan 16 I'd be surprised at Spacedust, it's not on Spotify (their other single is), I suspect due to legalities with the sample. Bob Sinclar's ripped off Gym Tonic is available now when it wasn't back then. Hopefully the following have a chance as well as your list above: Imaani - Where Are You Echobeatz - Mas Que Nada The Corrs - What Can I Do Honeyz - End Of The Line E-17 - Each Time 911 - All I Want Is You Faith Hill - This Kiss Alda - Girls Night Out Ace Of Base - Cruel Summer Lovestation - Teardrops Manic Street Preachers - The Everlasting Edited January 16Jan 16 by gooddelta
January 17Jan 17 I’d love for Faith Hill to appear but it sounds like her music is unable for licensing as she ain’t appeared on a compilation for ages. If 5,6,7,8 doesn’t appear, it might appear on 1997 Edited January 17Jan 17 by Hadji
