Looks like they’ve decided to announce a pointless 70s spin-off rather than announce extra 1989. Now 70s due for release on 30th May. Talk about milking it. Bit pointless doing a pointless 70s spin-off when we’re gonna have a 70s yearbook round end of June or beginning of JulyIMG_0855.jpegIMG_0856.jpeg

Wow! There's a lot of great stuff on NOW 120! Immediate thoughts: Tracks 1-7 being songs by the Pop Girls! Iconic! Brilliant! It's what we deserve! APT. is here! That follows "Gangam Style", "Gentle

Probably alone on this, but I’d love that kind of treatment for a 90s one. The one from 2014 (3CD) was un-inspired, but so much fun!

I agree and the same treatment for a 00s one but I have a feeling if they did one, it would only include songs that appeared on the millennium series. They do need to stop milking the 70s and 80s though

Extra 1989 due for release on 6th June and they really need to stop with the David Sylvian obsession. Either save him for the vault or don’t include him at all and Healing Hands should’ve been on 1990IMG_0890.jpegIMG_0891.jpeg

I’m surprised Texas didn’t make the main one or the extra with I Don’t Want A Lover.

I’ve made a list of the hits that were omitted and have a chance of appearing across both 1985-1989 yearbooks

1985

Bruce Springsteen - Dancing In The Dark

Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA

Dusty Springfield - Nothing Has Been Proved

I was hoping to see This One by Paul McCartney rather than My Brave Face. Quite surprised at the lack of Jive Bunny as the re-records have been used on other Now compilations.

I can only assume the likes of Lambada, I Don't Want A Lover and Don't Know Much are licensing issues, although quite surprised that Texas is.

Overall it looks like a pretty decent Extra though.

How long was it after completing the first half of the 80s decade that we received a "Final Chapter" collection?

Also, given that the "Final Chapter" was a collection of 5 years... would they milk yet another collection for the whole 10 years to rinse up any remaining unused tracks they have access to?

Both songs peaked at number 18 and I’d have preferred if they included This One over My Brave Face as well have the latter on Now 15

Hopefully, they include Hi Ho Silver on any of the 1985-1989 yearbooks and Forgotten Town on vault 1987. With Baby Don’t Forget My Number appearing on that album, shame it missed extra 1989. That only peaked at number 16 so it qualifies for vault 1989 which I hope they include that on too

I know as they are licensable artists. Omitting them from the 1997 yearbooks would be criminal as that’s when they peaked

I don’t think Jorja Smith has a chance of appearing seeing as Little Things missed Now 115 possibly due to her being a 1xtra artist and Ravyn Lenae has a chance of appearing. I just hope we get a new number 1 by the time this is announced. It’s also a good job that David Sylvian isn’t bringing out any new music otherwise they’d include him on Now 121

"1Xtra artist". I'm done 💀

Well that’s one way to refer to them as some people find the word urban offensive

I'd love 'Jungle' by Sugababes to appear! 'When The Rain Comes' did make 116, so it is possible.

I imagine they'll add the winning Eurovision song as well (and hopefully Remember Monday's entry).

I don't think Lorde will appear since "Solar Power" didn't make 109/110 - probably something to do with her anti-CD thing? (so dumb)

For Selena maybe "Bluest Flame" will be big enough before the release of 121. It's getting a lot of attention on TikTok.

And it's gonna be another Pop Girlies heavy album again (I hope). Gaga, Chappell, Sabrina, Miley, Tate, Zara, JADE, and Addison are great tracks and should be added!

I’ll do a prediction once Eurovision is done as there could be other songs from there charting such as the obvious UK entry and the winner

Lorde is still a licensable artist. She did appear quite recently on Now 40 Years 2013-2023 so there’s a chance of her appearing on Now 121
