Thursday at 14:182 days Looking good but gutted I Will Come To You didn’t make it.No Angel Of Mine or Stand By Me either. Edited Thursday at 14:222 days by T Boy
Thursday at 14:472 days Oh yes, Angel Of Mine is a surprising one to miss, although I did love all three of Eternal's '97 singles so I'm happy to see Don't You Love Me.In my opinion Closer than Close and As Long As You Love Me should have been on the main album (I appreciate BSB had another song but this is a classic too).Stand By Me is a surprising miss, maybe Oasis are only going to give songs to the main albums and not 'Extra'.Lots of big hits missing overall from the '97 albums - Candle In The Wind '97, Teletubbies Say Eh-Oh!, Men In Black, Tubthumping, I'll Be Missing You and I Believe I Can Fly (both fair though), Freed From Desire, Don't Speak, Time To Say Goodbye, the other Sash! No.2s Ecuador and Stay, the two big Verve singles Bittersweet Symphony and The Drugs Don't Work. It all makes for one of the most poorly compiled years in terms of the big hitters, even if it's nice to have access to some overlooked gems and smaller hits.
Thursday at 15:192 days A lot of these songs belong on the vault. With Eternal, Don’t You Love Me may have charted higher than Angel Of Mine but the latter outsold the former. That explains why Drop Dead Gorgeous is on extra with Ready To Go on main Edited Thursday at 15:362 days by Hadji
Thursday at 17:232 days I’ve bought ‘97 and saw the tracklist for this one and I have to say, this year is a weak year for the Yearbook series. Does anyone else feel this way? What are the major omissions from these releases and what could be the reason?I understand that these releases individually are somewhat affordable but at the moment it feels like NOW are reaching into their bargain bin of licensing and slapping any old cheap track on here.P.S. I’m specifically upset about the Teletubbies not making the cut.
Thursday at 17:262 days Not a bad tracklist, i remember the ABC single i bought it. I am surprised Paul Young's final Top 40 hit - I Wish You Love wasn't on there though.

Thursday at 19:322 days 98 definitely did a better job covering the hits. There were still some big ones missing but it didn’t feel as glaring as this.

My biggest gripe though is why has dance been wiped out of the equation apart from Roise Gaines and a few of the more famous critcially acclaimed dance acts on Disc 2 - it was a big year for it. Sash, Bellini, Smoke City, BBE, The Course, Todd Terry, PF Project, Mr President? I can't believe these were all unlicensable.

Thursday at 22:382 days I was about to rant about Suzanne Vega but then listened to the song as I didn't know it and it's great, ha. Still, a No.40 one week hit is scraping a bit, it makes me wonder if they will even do The Vault series for the 90s or if it's just an 80s concern.

I'm just wondering the chances for some of the omitted Top 10 hits from this year.Assuming too there will be a Final Chapter but that's only happened so far for one half of a decade and it feels like a long time ago now.

22 hours ago22 hr 1997 has become the sixth yearbook after 1982, 1980-1984, 1973, 1990 and 1998 to miss the number 1 spot on the compilation chart
17 hours ago17 hr For the next Yearbook, they should probably do a '70s one, most possibly either 1975 or 1976.What are your predictions?

We haven’t had one since November last year. I want it to be 1975 or 1976 but I reckon it’ll be between 1970 and 1972 so they can balance out the 70s yearbooks with 3 a piece; 3 from the first half of the 70s and 3 from the second half of the 70s and then make 1995 the next 90s yearbook for that same reason. I hope and expect to get at least one yearbook this year ending with a 5 seeing as we had one last year ending with a 4, one in 2023 ending with a 3 and one in 2022 ending with a 2 Edited 14 hours ago14 hr by Hadji
6 hours ago6 hr I’d like to see a 70’s Yearbook next. I honestly don’t mind which, but they do need to bring the attention back to the 70’s, even if for one year.I’m curious, and this may seem a while out if it does happen but, do you think they’ll do the 60’s? It could really make the Yearbook collection worth something if they expand into that decade.
