Thank U Next was something else, the top 2 songs nearly did 1 million each and she had 10 songs doing more that what her top song has done today

True, that was her peak but still the amount of users on Spotify today vs then 100’s of millions, and still not doing 60M is not good at all. I blame the lead, the album is fine.

Unless the YouTube numbers are massive then she isn’t in the race for #1 in the singles this week

Olivia's Guts did 60.9M but yeah that wasn't good at all, a flop album.

Yes let's straight up stop any sort of narrative that Ariana's debuts today aren't good. She's done better in the past, but this is still so much better than most artists manage. She's slaying!

Does anyone with Prime have the top 5 on the music charts?

1 Beyoncé [+47]

2 Noah Kahan [+33, 76]

3 Calvin Harris & Rag'n'Bone Man

4 Benson Boone

5 Ariana Grande [yes, and?]

we can't be friends is #93.

58m. Same as her last album, Spotify grew 250m users since then. Last time (not her peak) she had the first 4 spots on the global chart, now her highest is 5.

You want to laugh, you’re more than welcome. Numbers don’t lie. :)

Is it a flop? No. Is it underwhelming? 100% yes.

There is heaps of evidence to suggest Spotify's growth is benefiting catalogue tracks a lot more than current top 40 hits, so 250m more users won't be making a particularly visible difference at the top end of the chart, including on a new Ariana album.

If "underwhelming" is 13 tracks (out of 13) in the Spotify top 40 (both US an global), then all it shows is just how huge Ariana's been in the past. She's still slaying, just a little less than before.

Think Ariana's numbers are quite similar to her last album Positions

I'd say Thank U Next was the outlier, and now she's back to normal figures

which are just ok, nothing spectacular or amazing, definitely not slaying

the new single won't be anywhere near the top either

Didn’t say she’s not, didn’t say that it’s a flop. I said it’s underwhelming! That’s all, and I did like the album.

You also said it's "not good at all" to be fair!

250 mill more subscribers will obviously have some impact and given the way Spotify push Ariana on every playlist it’s hard to miss so given all that it’s clear her popularity taking her hit is reflected in the numbers but given the lead single being awful and a lot of people expecting a flop it’s turned out pretty good for her. This is her ceiling now and it’s still pretty good not many will get higher

Thanks. Going to be a really close race for #1 this week by the looks of it.

Please stop pushing your opinion on yes, and? as if it's a fact. It's been a big hit - dislike it all you want, but it's clearly not the opinion of the wider public in the UK.

Y’all are SO FCKING EXHAUSTING.

Give it a damn rest. Is the problem Ariana “flopping”/“under performing” or is it more likely that you all had unreasonable expectations to help with that narrative?

Ariana on UK Spotify:

7. yes, and? (403,345)

8. we can't be friends (wait for your love) (382,701)

10. bye (355,685)

11. the boy is mine (317,101)

12. eternal sunshine (315,246)

14. don't wanna break up again (309,781)

15. supernatural (302,760)

17. intro (end of the world) (292,172)

19. true story (284,868)

28. i wish i hated you (234,530)

29. Saturn Returns Interlude (226,007)

33. imperfect for you (215,329)

38. ordinary things (feat. Nonna) (191,865)

To compare it to Positions:

01 Positions

02 34+35

05 Motive (with Doja Cat)

08 Shut Up

09 Off The Table (with The Weeknd)

10 Just Like Magic

15 Safety Net (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)

16 Nasty

17 My Hair

18 POV

19 Six Thirty

23 Love Language

25 West Side

26 Obvious

That is quite a decline, and Positions was already considered a big comedown from Thank U, Next

Oh while we talking about flopping , beyonces back on tik tok so that should help slow her "collapse"

That “collapse” is still 150k above Ariana :kink:

Never in my life did I think I’d see people referring to a 3 week #1 as a collapse but here we are :P
