Posted April 3, 20241 yr In the 21st Century Throwback form we've had lots of threads about great singles, not so great singles, flop singles, albums and even artists. I thought it'd be nice to have a place for us to share some of our favourite album tracks of the 21st century. Who knows we all might even discover that we like someone else's hidden gem. The only criteria is that it has to be an album track for the 21st century. Looking forward to see what gets posted here and potentially discovering something I've completely missed. :)

April 3, 20241 yr Oh god so many but these are the first off the top of my head: Track from her debut album. It could have been used for a The Bodyguard type of film. So beautiful. 1at25JCl11Y Track from Stripped. This could’ve been another top 10 for Xtina. R1AdKsAUW0o Love this! I’m guessing it’s about the past members? lol zQDbG4j7Mzk So many great Riri album tracks but this rock-reggae number stands the test of time! sADxrPgkikE
April 3, 20241 yr My fave album track from MCR's Black Parade album NWDbyjhk_ZA?si=HvWvwpZQIsduoOZN This I ranked quite highly when listening to Madonna's album last year. Also a mention to the Donna Summer sounding 'Future Lovers' too. 4O_d6JLGANk?si=3yNHwkyoiz10SAkt Was for Katy originally in 2005 but gave it to Kelly and she included on her 09 album. Funny thing is this sounds like 05-07 Kelly anyway haha. 1NSAZoDzKa8?si=WPBrPwME5NRDfkBF
April 3, 20241 yr I love these 2 MCR tracks which went viral here for the past 2 years: wc2s9skF_58 j_MlBCb9-m8 Calvin Harris also had this in Motion: kMS8m45FtmQ From The Prodigy's #1 album in 2004, of course thanks to Need For Speed: Most Wanted and Tokyo Drift: wFAA0_Acvqw In the Japanese manga Jujutsu Kaisen, this Avicii track became one of its characters' theme song: h3A8YM_ywfU

April 3, 20241 yr TVJVhi_4ZRM This would have been big for Kelis at the time if she released it. So underrated.
April 3, 20241 yr Author A few ore from me: Marit Larsen - Have You Ever - Possibly my favourite song one half of the former duo M2M. Omx6v0lKYtU Kelly Clarkson - Gone - Kelly's 2004 album Breakaway was stacked with potential single choices, this being one of them. VK0P5ppJZzI Maroon 5 - Shiver - Similar to Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5's 2004 Songs About Jane had many potential singles in my view, this one being my favourite. x0BQUVzcguU
April 3, 20241 yr Author Gone is a great shout. Also Beautiful Distaster and You Found Me. Yes, those two plus Addicted. Really the whole album is so strong.
April 4, 20241 yr 'Breakaway' is the greatest album ever made imo. It's just insanely good! But 'My December' was the album with songs that could've been big hits had the era been handled well! Sober Be4ci589Guk Judas 5Y1jvfIpXS4 Haunted UhwgqdKNTXM How I Feel RNOUi7BKWgk All of those are songs I think that could have been hits had the label actually cared enough about the album. I will add more from other artists at a later date. But wanted to give my 2 cents whilst Kelly was the hot topic of this conversation right now :P
