In the 21st Century Throwback form we've had lots of threads about great singles, not so great singles, flop singles, albums and even artists. I thought it'd be nice to have a place for us to share some of our favourite album tracks of the 21st century. Who knows we all might even discover that we like someone else's hidden gem.

 

The only criteria is that it has to be an album track for the 21st century. Looking forward to see what gets posted here and potentially discovering something I've completely missed. :)

This I ranked quite highly when listening to Madonna's album last year. Also a mention to the Donna Summer sounding 'Future Lovers' too.

 

 

Was for Katy originally in 2005 but gave it to Kelly and she included on her 09 album. Funny thing is this sounds like 05-07 Kelly anyway haha.

These are the five that immediately came to mind although I’m sure there will be more!

 

This would have been big for Kelis at the time if she released it. So underrated.

Marit Larsen - Have You Ever - Possibly my favourite song one half of the former duo M2M.

 

 

Kelly Clarkson - Gone - Kelly's 2004 album Breakaway was stacked with potential single choices, this being one of them.

 

 

Maroon 5 - Shiver - Similar to Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5's 2004 Songs About Jane had many potential singles in my view, this one being my favourite.

 

Gone is a great shout. Also Beautiful Distaster and You Found Me.

Yes, those two plus Addicted. Really the whole album is so strong.

'Breakaway' is the greatest album ever made imo. It's just insanely good! But 'My December' was the album with songs that could've been big hits had the era been handled well!

All of those are songs I think that could have been hits had the label actually cared enough about the album.
