May 14, 20241 yr Aside from looking much cleaner and modern, I must say my favourite QOL improvement is the addition of a tick in the folder next to a thread you've commented on. Now if I'm not mistaken there was no way to know aside from Memory or popping into a thread to see what you'd commented on but I really do like this so much.

Now if I'm not mistaken there was no way to know aside from Memory or popping into a thread to see what you'd commented on but I really do like this so much. I can see how that would be useful especially when commenting on personal charts. Before, the only way I knew how to "tag" if I had been in a thread or not was to give the thread a star rating which showed up in the index. The only problem is that some people used the same thread each week to post chart updates so there was no way to know if I had missed that thread. I guess by the same logic that problem still exists.

If I remember correctly, I think the colour of the folder or something showed whether you had commented or not - there definitely was something but it clearly wasn't very clear as I already can't remember for certain what it was! :D Agreed the new approach is much better
May 14, 20241 yr Author There was a little L shape in the bottom right corner of the old folder icons! It's not a new feature, just perhaps a little more obvious now :D
May 14, 20241 yr That was it! I knew there was something... sadly the only thing I could remember properly was it took me YEARS on here before I realised what it was
May 24, 20241 yr Logged in for the first time since November and nearly passed out. Love it!!! Can I get a personalised role like Jade please. The forums pop idol xoxo :michelle: Edited May 24, 20241 yr by Cameron
May 25, 20241 yr Artist Forums bit of homepage not big enough I think - easily missed Also Eurovision description should maybe be changed to 'All the news, gossip, reviews and reactions as we prepare for Suisse 2025'.
May 25, 20241 yr Author Do you have any AFs activated? I have them all switched on so it's a pretty big section for me. Will update the Eurovision description as advised by the mods of that section! And thanks Cameron! :cheer:
May 25, 20241 yr Didnt know about that Artist Forum feature, it looks very narrow on the homepage without it for new members though!
May 25, 20241 yr Author Nothing's changed about how that section would look! It's just higher up the page than it used to be.
June 13, 20241 yr Author It's news to nobody that I have too much time on my hands (which is how the redesign happened xx) but I've been chipping away most days for the past month at the ridiculous amount of spam accounts we have on the site. This came from a desire for the Birthdays list to actually reflect real users and not the insane number of spam accounts that have populated that section for ages. During the redesign, I couldn't find a way to ensure only members with more than 20 posts appear (bear in mind spammers like to hit 20 posts before they can post a link), but was able to block certain groups from appearing, so I've blocked the Banned group from the Birthdays list on the index and the main calendar, before embarking on a mission to ban every spam account I could find. Most of the ones I've tackled are ones with a birthday listed, and not every account has this, but I think I've at least managed the majority of them...! We started with around 55,000 members when I began this, with potentially around 500 in the Banned user group. Since then, I've deleted around 25,000 accounts entirely (thanks to noticing patterns in usernames and email addresses), and added almost 10,000 accounts to the Banned category - which is over half of the members we had a month ago Not only is the Birthdays list now a lot cleaner at the bottom of the index page, the site's also a lot safer - the Banned category does not show up in the Members list, linked in the navbar at the top of every page, meaning these profiles aren't easily found at all now. That's a good thing when many of them had dodgy links in them - it's worrying how many iffy links were publicly visible, and even accessible via the board index once a year through the birthday list. There will be more out there, without a birthday assigned - if you happen to stumble upon a profile that looks like a spammer, or has a dodgy-looking URL in the profile or signature (DON'T click them, just hover over to view the URL), please send their username to me!! - but I've definitely caught a majority of them (obviously, when I've blitzed half of the site's memberbase lol). The "Welcome to our newest member" section of the index panel does tend to highlight a spam account unfortunately, but it's helpful for me to notice them quickly
June 13, 20241 yr oh my Joseph snapped his finger :o Snake is going to lose his job in the shoutbox :( thanks for the cleanup tho x
July 7, 20241 yr Author Some small tweaks I've done recently: - The profile page "Options" dropdown box (where you go to view a member's display name history) now has new emoji icons replacing the old dated versions. Also the same for the dropdown box next to everyone's username when appearing beside PMs and the member list (already in place next to regular posts - didn't realise these things were different lol x) - I've slightly redesigned the User CP menu bar as it looked a little cluttered and wordy. - I've FINALLY found where to edit the Gallery and Awards pages, so I've tidied both up a bit but they're not any different in terms of what they're showing and where it is, really. That said, the Gallery still bugs me big time, so much clutter x Have also reworded a couple of the error messages on the site (thanks to a Wardy PM I forgot about from a while ago :kink: ) to streamline the wording - this isn't applicable for every error message yet as there's way more than I realised!
July 8, 20241 yr Nice work as always Joseph. ^_^ Had this idea for the UK Charts forum, to link all the week's various playlists on the front page for easy access, thought it could look quite nice too; What do you think?
July 8, 20241 yr What do you think? The logos are a bit big! We would also need Spotify, Apple and Amazon streaming chart links up there too ideally before the radio station playlist links!
