Sash! had all their hits as a group, nowadays it's just the one guy. I did nominate him in the male artist rate but he was vetoed for this reason, so I had to remember to include Sash! in their glory days here

I think their Best Of is one of my favourite hits collection, it's just uplifting anthem after anthem, they were so unlucky to land at No.2 so often without ever getting to No.1.

Mike and The Mechanics produced two 10/10 songs in The Living Years and Over My Shoulder, although beyond those and All I Need Is A Miracle I'm not massively familiar with their material.

I always thought sash was solo so i learnd something new today, loved nearly as their singles.

Mike and mechanics have some great songs i love word of mouth.

Was going to correct you that 'One Step Closer' peaked at #2 - but I see it's just a typo as you've listed their other #2 hits as well!

Oops- clearly it should have been :D - altered thanks

I have quite a few Echo & The Bunnymen songs in my shuffle playlist: 'Bring on the Dancing Horses', 'The Cutter', 'The Killing Moon', 'Ocean Rain' and 'Seven Seas' but I've never listened to a whole album of theirs before, should change that.

'Sundown' by S Club 8 instantly transports me back to being a 6-year-old as my neighbour at the time was obsessed, nostalgia overload

I'd start with Ocean Rain, it's widely regarded as their best album. The compilation Songs to Learn And Sing is a great primer for their early work too

All Out Of Love is a wonderful song but it's the only one I know by Air Supply. Echo and the Bunnymen, as others have said, have some good tunes.

I'm pleased that someone else voted for my 7 point group. I think I was the only one last time.

I think Yeah Yeah Yeahs might have made a list for me if I'd made one, they've made a couple of my favourite songs of all time ('Maps' and 'Zero') and plenty of other great songs as well. Their most recent album is the only one I've heard in full and I found it a tad underwhelming on the whole beyond the singles though so maybe their album tracks aren't quite as consistent. Likewise Editors may well have made my list too, and kinda happy to see Silk Sonic getting a mention as their album was a lot of fun. Glass Animals have been mostly pretty good for me too but I really don't like 'Heat Waves' (I always thought it was one of the worst songs on that album even before it became a hit) and the new song that Radio 1 have been playing from them recently sounds like an even worse attempt at recreating that so I fear they're going all in on that sound :')

Beastie Boys and The Strokes standing out the most so far as acts that I would have hoped and expected to get more than just one single-figure vote, maybe Justice too.

All American Rejects and Empire of the Sun didn't make my list as they seem more remembered for one song than their whole catalogue.

Don't think I agree on either of these - the song I assume you're referring to for Empire Of The Sun is not even their most streamed song on Spotify! And The All-American Rejects definitely have at least 3 pretty well-known songs (maybe not so much in the UK to be fair). Although yeah probably not many people checking for full albums from either of them.

Ah, Air Supply, another dad's favorite band (I think he bought their Greatest Hits as well lol). I'm all familiar with All Out of Love, but never really know what the title was.

Even the Nights Are Better is fab, shame it missed the Top 40. I Can Wait Forever and Goodbye are their most underrated tracks.

Yes to ‘Goodbye’!! I loved that track. And its B-Side - ‘The Vanishing Race’ (I think).

Great shout with Boston! Forgot about them. Can’t believe More Than a Feeling only made #22! :o
Great to see Shakespear’s Sister in there. They made my shortlist of about 40 but didn’t make the final list because I was only really a fan of one of their albums.

Ramones are an excellent shout - great to see them picked by 2 people as well. Might have ended up on my list had they come to mind.

Adam & the Ants were my first ever favourite band and so close to making the list for me but I really hate most of that 3rd album.

Oh, it's the same Ramones that made Blitzkrieg Bop. Fantastic song!

I have to admit, I've been quite enjoying better lately with BTS' 2017-2019 singles era (i.e. Boy With Luv, IDOL, FAKE LOVE, DNA & MIC Drop), which annoyed me a lot back then. I charted Waste It On Me on my personal charts though, in the form of W&W Remix.

Selena Gomez & The Scene! :cheeseblock: Love her cheesy pop project back then, especially Who Says? and Love You Like a Love Song, which never made to the top 40.

Ooh, first of my votes to drop out. I love both of the first two Adam and the Ants albums plus the #1s from the third album, even if the whole body of work is disappointing.

Also adore 'Stay' by Shakespears Sister and 'The Legend of Xanadu' by Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich

Nice to see Ramones getting some additional love too. They're one of the most influential bands ever, not only spearheading the New York Punk scene but their debut album and the follwing July 1976 London show helped galvanize the burgeoning London scene too.
