BIGGEST HIT: HALL OF FAME (#1, 2012)

Pretty surprising that Ace of Base are a new entry. One of the best 90s pop bands easily.
3 good bands that I’ve not played in a while, definitely need to go through and re listen to a lot of people after this countdown
Biffy finishing behind the Script is a sad state of affairs! Thought they might get more than just a couple of lowish votes besides my own.

Yes - a New Entry with 4 votes is pretty amazing! I was surprised to see them so high after they got no votes last time. One of two groups I voted for to be a New Entry but with more than 1 vote - The other group is still to come.

It will be interesting to see what the highest new entry is (excluding bands that launched/became big after the last contest).

BIGGEST HIT: FUNNY LITTLE FROG (#13, 2006)

Both Bon Iver and Belle & Sebastian are great. The Life Pursuit by the latter is a great Summer record whilst pretty much all of the former's albums are perfect for Winter wandering

'To The Moon and Back' is the better of the two big hits from Savage Garden for me so pleased it's their biggest hit still. Them climbing a lot from where they were last time and being inside the top 150 makes up for leaving them off mine.

I agree! One of my favourite bands but I don’t like their popular ballads. (The ballads on their albums were better). So their biggest sellers were ballads but ‘To The Moon And Back’ thankfully charted higher.

Great to see a big climb for them but considering how big they were at the time I’m very surprised to see them so low.

Savage Garden were quite close to my top 30, a very solid catalogue of hits from just two albums.

Shame Darren mimed that Top of the Pops performance, never really seen him miming anywhere. To The Moon and Back is my favourite from them too, a wonderful single. As a side note, Jamie Theakston’s green screen at the start of the performance looks very poor, BBC must have been cutting TOTP budgets at the time.

Truly Madly Deeply is still by far their biggest selling hit though. So many bands have such a strange song as their highest peaking single, like that Kooks example a bit earlier.

Love Belle & Sebastian too, they have so many lovely albums.

The remix album of their debut still gets a listen from me from time to time. Take me straight back to 98!
