I've watched in full:

Sugababes

Confidence Man

Barry Can't Swim

Disclosure

Orbital

I did watch the BBC2 coverage from 5pm yesterday. What they showed of Keane was exceptional! Michael Kiwanuka was also fab and glad they managed to show the full version of Cold Heart in the end. Oops at Camila Cabello, what on Earth was that?

I seriously hope Peggy Gou's set gets put up.

Lots to catch today, so definitely want to see London Grammar, Justice, Avril Lavigne, Romy, Nia Archives and James Blake.

Poor Shania and her obvious sound issues (and Cyndi Lauper too).

Really enjoyed the Dua and Coldplay headline sets though. Dua really owned it and she’s done such a great job at establishing herself as a performer but she sounded great and gave a hits stacked setlist. Coldplay again are just made for things like this and it was a really great set last night again with a great setlist and some great guests.

I think Sugababes and Paloma Faith sounded great too. And I do want to hear Keane so I’ll check their set out.

May catch some of SZAs at some point too! Quite shocked still that she bagged the headline slot but she’s rather unsurprisingly had very little coverage / build up across the press compared to Dua and Coldplay I suspect many thought Shania was the other headliner.

Nice to see more females across the board this year though.

Just caught Burna Boy's set and what a show-stopper it was! Future headliner material right there. I saw Shania earlier and even though I don't generally react warmly to her music, I really enjoyed the performance! Hyped for SZA's performance next although she is clashing with so many of my fav acts lol. I guess I'll catch up on Justice, James Blake and London Grammar tomorrow

Dua, Fontaines D.C. and Coldplay's performances were ofc amazing as well. I'd love to see them both live one day...

The audio seems really off for SZA? She sounds horribly distorted :(

Edit: it finally seems to be fixed after 30 mins :drama: glad she hasn’t done ‘Good Days’ yet as that’s my favourite ❤️

Pretty small crowd for SZA too considering she’s headlining.

I think perhaps it was too early in her career to bill her as a headliner act. I think she’d have been better as part of the bill but not in a headline position. Other artists looked as though they had far bigger and more engaged crowds unless it’s just not translating across on screen.

SZA is not a headliner for Glastonbury bizarre choice and it just makes her look bad now with the small crowd. I know they got criticised for being too male or something but you need to be sensible. SZA is just not that level. First two were great. Coldplay of course and Dua did well too but this is awful
There were rumours going around a few months ago that SZA was bumped up from Other Stage headliner when Madonna pulled out of headlining the Pyramid. That definitely would’ve made more sense.

Justice :cheeseblock:

I decided to have a little peep at what was going on at the West Holts stage and was distracted away from SZA's set oop (will have to watch the rest tomorrow). But damn, two minutes in and I was HOOKED. I seem to have a new number one on my list of must-see acts, the set was astounding. The lighting in particular assisted the performance so much!

I do feel pretty bad for SZA having such a minor sized crowd in comparison to the other headliners, but what do you expect when The National, James Blake, Justice and London Grammar are performing at the same time? Also, Coldplay are a band who sell-out stadiums and whilst Dua and SZA both sell-out arenas, I would say that Dua is far more well-known in Britain. If this were Coachella, I would think that SZA would attract a huge crowd tbh.

I hear that James brought out Dave for 'Both Sides Of A Smile' + SZA covered 'Kiss' by Prince

Justice :cheeseblock:

Yeah she performed a mash-up of 'Kiss Me More' and 'Kiss'!

I adore 'Both Sides Of A Smile' so that is at the top of my catch-up list omg <3 I did see the Justice performance of 'D.A.N.C.E.' on the BBC2 coverage and that looked fab!

Not a rumour, it's true. Pretty unfortunate to be scheduled against other acts. Totally get the need for the diversity & giving people the opportunities, just not sure this was the right move all things considered and probably aware of the backlash from last year.

SZA always seemed like an odd choice. Of all the female artists they could’ve got for that slot - Kylie, Madonna (really wish they coughed up her fee, would’ve been iconic), Stevie Nicks, Pink, Beyoncé (lol) - I don’t know why they went for her. SZA is the type of artist who streams well but culturally her impact is pretty limited.

I really don’t like some of their choices this year. Sugababes and Avril should’ve been on the Pyramid stage, of course more people are going to want to see Avril than Janelle Monae who was on the Pyramid the same time Avril was on the Other stage (and I like Janelle, but if you ask the Glasto crowd I doubt the majority know any of her music). I think they need to stop trying to look “cool” and just make the sensible choice, who is going to draw a bigger crowd?

The hate for SZA is so weird, performative and then you get a couple.of big accounts reporting small crowds so everyone jumps on the trend. Yeah she probably isn't big enough for that slot but she is still a huge name and sells arenas. But to make tiktoks and get excited to hate on her as a artist is weird, go touch some grass.

Any way, she still put on an amazing amazing show, better than some of the other bigger acts too despite the crowd size and initial technical difficulties.

London Grammar were wonderful as to be expected, loved when they brought George FitzGerald out. I was hoping they'd do Metal & Dust and they delivered

I don’t think that word means what you think it means

Okay maybe wrong word choice, maybe moreso just trend hopping because it's the popular opinion. I think it was fairly clear what I was getting at though lol.
