It's gonna go platinum one way or another, but she needs to keep promoting it to get there faster. It's a shame her last studio album to go platinum in the UK was Born This Way. We need the deluxe.

It's now likely that MAYHEM is gonna surpass how many weeks Chromatica did. Once MAYHEM reaches 25 weeks, it'll be Gaga's third longest-charting album! @HausofMayhem @Sour Candy

  • UK Album Chart 32 56 23 MAYHEM, Lady Gaga (Peak: 1) Amazing week for her! Albums charting at #32 and #42!! Another 3.3k so the total is 162.2k

  • These gains!!!

A re-entry is always welcome, but she has to do something to promote it more. A catalog album shouldn't be outselling a current studio album, that's not good news. Taylor farts and gets a platinum album. Sabrina can do it easily, Ariana too, even Tate McRae will go platinum first without a big smash like Die With A Smile on her album. It's a shame, the UK didn't deserve a flood of Mayhem shows.

The thing about what Adelita said, isn’t exactly false.

Sabrina and Tate have both been aggressively releasing music to ensure they remain relevant on the pop scene, in an industry where you could be the biggest thing one day and in a blink be irrelevant the next. Gaga should’ve released a single (or actually two) in between during the ‘Mayhem’ campaign, even a radio single or something which won’t even need much effort from her in person.

Gaga did that in her first few years as a breakout artist too!

I really do wish she'd release more singles, just saying it is difficult to compare the artists when one is a legend and been around for 20 years and the others have been getting hits for a very short amount of time comparatively.

The difference is they have to do that, she doesn’t.

Not to say I agree with how they handled this era, but it’s true.

I agree upcoming next generation pop artists have to do that, to sustain momentum. My question has always been, why does Gaga NOT meet in the middle and do a strategic singles release since ‘Born This Way’. I’m not asking her to do a Sabrina and be that aggressive, the way she was with ‘The Fame (Monster’), but something a litttttllllle bit more than what we got would’ve been nice, considering how strong ‘Mayhem’ is.

Like does releasing radio singles be that offensive to her, or her record’s eyes? I should’ve been in that ‘Mayhem’ little monster conference and asked her this question, and see what answer she cooks up with gaga.

(I’m a bit annoyed we got nothing between ‘Abracadabra’ and ‘The Dead Dance’, can you tell lol).

Sabrina and Tate are next generation artists - you should give them time to flop lol

Sabrina has been around for over 10 years and has already released her seventh studio album, just like Gaga. Tate emerged during the pandemic and has already been in the game for 5 years. Neither of them seem to want to disappear from the public's radar anytime soon, the secret? They drop hit after hit. Gaga should do the same, regardless of whether she emerged yesterday or has been in the game for almost two decades.

Congrats on being the only one who got the point. Grammy voting closes Monday the 5th... and she focused more on promoting Harlequin than Mayhem and its 7 nominations... It's her best shot to date. No Adele, Taylor or Beyoncé in the game, however, Kendrick has the narrative of being a black rapper, Bad Bunny has the narrative of being a latino immigrant and being used as a symbol against Trump, and Gaga? She has nothing... Not even the fact that she's a woman can be used as a card, considering Taylor ruined that, winning AOTY practically with every new album, not to mention Beyoncé winning last year, undeservedly. Some say that her focusing on the jazz section will get her votes from that group for AOTY, but I don't buy it. If the jazz section were actually strong, she would have won with Love For Sale. Gaga should have released more singles and promoted the era much more, that's not debatable, it's a fact. That's how Taylor, with 1989, beat Kendrick, who had the most acclaimed album of all time, in 2016: promotion. If Gaga loses, it will be solely her fault and that of her lazy and stingy record label.

It was exactly 7 months between Abracadabra and The Dead Dance, a window long enough to drop one or even two singles. They repeated the same mistake they made when they didn't release Dance In The Dark (or Monster) as a single after Alejandro in 2010. They thought that it would oversaturate Gaga's image and wanted to create a gap until Born This Way, but, the point is that Gaga was so hot that time that nothing would have stopped BTW from debuting straight at #1. Gaga should have released DITD a few months after Alejandro and performed it at the 2010 VMAs. If it hadn't reached the top 10 yet, it certainly would have after her performance and after she swept all the awards that night, the song even had a cover tearsmile.

They left a hit on the table, again. Not releasing How Bad in the last summer will cost her dearly, especially since Spotify named it as one of the candidates for summer hit and her label even officially sent the song to radio stations in some countries like Australia and Poland. They always bake it halfway, they don't promote her as they should. I hope I'm being pessimistic, but I can clearly see Bad Bunny winning Album of the Year (it's obvious considering he's performing at the SuperBowl and he's serving as an alibi against Trump) and Kendrick winning ROTY and SOTY again (rolleyes) since Luther was the 2nd biggest song of 2025 in the US. Whatever happens, it will be blamed on her and her label's lazy promotion.

Garden of Eden almost gold eligible in the US!

Vanish Into You is also close:

How Bad Do U Want Me should also be close to 500k in the US by now.

This entire post is unnecessarily belittling.

Bad Bunny released one of the most acclaimed and commercially successful albums of the year — his narrative isn’t that he’s just an immigrant in Trump’s America. He’s deserving. I’m not a fan of GNX, but it’s hard to ignore what a cultural behemoth Kendrick has been this era.

I agree with the consensus that they wasted momentum and failed to push singles, especially given how many strong options they had. But ultimately, she doesn’t have to play that game anymore. You can pretend Sabrina didn't spend most of the past decade in the weeds if you want, but they’re still not remotely comparable.

I understand the points people are making, but she’s just not Tate McRae battling for relevancy. Sure, it’s frustrating, but at a certain point fans need to accept when they’re acting unhinged about an artist who is clearly fulfilled with where her career is. She obviously loves this album and has more than earned the right to do what she wants.

I just cannot be remotely bitter about an era that served the best tour of her career and relit her passion for pop music again. It's been a hoot x

I still stand by my point. I've been dealing with Gaga haters since Bad Romance came out, so don't even try to go down that road because I see you. Don't pretend you've been a Bad Bunny fan since day one like some Beyoncé fans on Twitter did when they realized he's the biggest obstacle in Gaga's way, Bad Bunny has no talent, all his songs sound like the same old reggaeton and he's a mess live and at his shows, both singing and dancing. The truth is, he's only in the conversation because he's latino and being used on the front lines against a second Trump administration. He's so hypocritical that he didn't include the US in his tour but submitted his album to the Grammys and agreed to do the Super Bowl, like... Also, don't act like Kendrick's success is enough to give GNX the Album of the Year, i'm a big fan but his album is mid by his standards. He actually deserved it for DAMN. and To Pimp a Butterfly, not for this rushed album capitalized off the success of the Drake diss track. For you, she doesn't need to go head-to-head with "new girls" (who have been around for over a decade), but, for me, she does. If you want to stay relevant, you have to be competitive and hungry, regardless of when you popped out and regardless of who's currently hot in the game. Her label isn't promoting her as they should, and she isn't pushing herself to her full potential either. She had a great year, but she could have had an even bigger one, that's it.

Hun, I don’t think you’re stanning the right artist if you’re so comfortable using racial tropes as criticism.

It may come as a shock, but it is possible to be a long-time Gaga fan and still not feel the need to delegitimise others to defend her success. I would be thrilled with her (or Bad Bunny) winning.

There’s a big difference between wishing the album had been bigger or handled differently and whatever it is you’re projecting. I’ve been here long enough to know you’ve been whining about her career circling the drain for years — and yet here she is, still 'relevant' two decades in. One of her best albums yet, an incredible tour, a year full of highlights, and she's clearly happy. What a hater I am.

Excuse me, but it's not up to you to decide who is or isn't a fan of an artist, you're giving yourself too much importance. And I didn't see any racial trope? unsure I just gave my opinion and I stand by what I said. Stop being so woke since I'm latino and you are not. Y'all just love gaslighting about everyone else deserving the big awards except Gaga, while pretending to be rooting for her.
