Think either of those could beat England the way yous are playing but both aren’t great!

For the last 16, did you all want individual threads for each match?

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

Shame we're heading into a couple of rest days. Although always a sign the tournament is getting to the important stages. Games I'm most looking forward to are Germany v Denmark / France v Belgium and Switzerland v Italy; they should all be crackers. Not sure I'm 'looking forward' to England v Slovakia but will of course watch it on Sunday.

Yeh Mack I would prefer individual threads!

All right, thanks all, I'll go and do that for you all, :)

would much rather have Italy in the quarters than Switzerland!

my biggest concern would be a semi final against Austria

I would expect him to play at the 2026 World Cup if Portugal qualify but after that surely even someone like him would decide to call it a day rather than playing at Euro 2028 as a 43 year old.

Can someone tell me how many hat-tricks have been scored in the Euros before? Is it a rarity?

To answer your question in regards to Euros hat-tricks, there have been eight in total which were:

1. Dieter Muller (West Germany) [Euro 1976 Semi-Finals] Against Yugoslavia

2. Klaus Allofs (West Germany) [Euro 1980 Group Stage] Against Netherlands

3. Michel Platini (France) [Euro 1984 Group Stage] Against Belgium

4. Michel Platini (France) [Euro 1984 Group Stage] Against Yugoslavia

5. Marco van Basten (Netherlands) [Euro 1988 Group Stage] Against England

6. Sergio Conceicao (Portugal) [Euro 2000 Group Stage] Against Germany

7. Patrick Kluivert (Netherlands) [Euro 2000 Quarter-Finals] Against Yugoslavia

8. David Villa (Spain) [Euro 2008 Group Stage] Against Russia

UK will be at a disadvantage, aside from the disadvantage of Spain just being better, bwcause they played last night. Less rest and prep time for the final
I still find it mad that the record UK viewership is 32m for the 1966 world final. 32m! In 1966! Nothing has ever come close to breaking that apart from Diana's funeral.
That’s huge like isn’t it? 30m on Sunday?

Yeah it massive, although not as massive as the ratings for the last euros.

High 20s - I reckon - down a bit on the home soil Euro final.

Yeh and less people had tvs back then!
