Not even Coloratura? That's a big favourite of the early Coldplay fans in their fanbase!

This is very bog standard Coldplay by numbers.

I do of course love it though

I mean this is a Coldplay by numbers pop song but do like it. I’m not sure it’s a hit but definitely a great radio single. I’ve always wondered why Coldplay’s popularity never goes away. Most bands get 2 or 3 big albums and then the public lose all interest but there is always interest in a new Coldplay release and the likes of Radio 1 are still falling over themselves to get the first play of any new material.
Probably not surprising that this will be on Radio 2's playlist from tomorrow and it's also their Record of the Week from Monday
Nah, the humming part isn't really good. Not quite a fan, unforch.

Yes the humming is rather lazy.

It’s as if they asked AI to make a generic Coldplay song.

This isn't doing much for me sadly, feels like it never really gets going up a gear. It has a similar production vibe to Mylo Xyloto but isn't as dynamic or uplifting. I immediately just went to play Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall instead.

At least I don't have to look at that eyesore of a title much though if I won't be actively playing it

Crazy really, I think they've done well to have their core fanbase and then latch on to trends and have the right features too. There's a self awareness within their team too. They headlined Radio 1 Big Weekend and with my knowledge of these things, the acts don't really take a few (or very minimal fee) to play these events, but the trade off is that they are guaranteed airplay.

It’s alright after the first listen, it’s hardly ‘Yellow’ though is it?

Kinda hating the lalala part

The chorus is ok

Just sounds like a Mylo Xyloto album track, which is still decent, but very by the numbers and it's definitely not becoming anyone's favourite Coldplay song. The outro is definitely the best part, I was starting to warm to it a bit more after that. Ultimately, though I preferred Higher Power by them if I wanted a pop sellout sound.

I guess I'll just be hoping for a Coloratura to be buried on here somewhere x

Sounds very copy and paste a lot of their stuff towards the past decade. Not feeling it at all but I guess good for them to score another top 30 hit.
