Hello and welcome to the first ever song contest hosted right here in the 21st Century Throwback forum! :welcome: Here we celebrate music only from this millennium and disregard anything with even a shred of relevance to the 20th century. :nono: Only the best music is allowed, and we want as many as possible to take part in this fun community event! :D

 

On behalf of the 21st Century Moderstors; Roba, Scene and Yobnedor, it was decided that I would take the lead on hosting our first song contest here, and the next host will be decided by the results of this contest as per usual.

 

The broad theme I have chosen for my contest is Pop Anthems! :dance: We are looking for music that inspires catchy, upbeat songs that could have become the next bug hit at the time. No ballads allowed for this, it needs to be pure pop at its very best, the cheesier the better! :P Specifically, the contest aims to promote relatively unknown songs that did not become big hits in the UK and we encourage artists that may not be as well established as those with many hits in their back catalogue.

 

As with any other song contest on BuzzJack, there are rules and guidelines, and here they are for you now;

 

Rules

1. The song must not have reached the Top 10 in the official UK charts.

2. The Artist must not have an Artist Forum on BuzzJack.

3. Any song that we feel is giving other songs an unfair advantage (eg, Sales) or somewhat fits the veto rules (popular on the forum) will still be vetoed.

4. For this contest, we are intrigued by artists that are perhaps not known outside of their own country. We want to discover the best of pop.

5. Only songs from year 2000 onwards are allowed, anything from the 20th century will be instantly vetoed.

6. As this is a Throwback forum, it is encouraged, but not required, that entries are from a nostalgic time period, ideally up to 2015, however, anything released later will still be acceptable.

7. An artist will only get one entry per contest, so first come first served.

8. The song must not have been a top 20 hit in another song contest on the site. However, a song that has previously been entered into these contests (e.g. BJSC spin-offs) may still be vetoed.

 

This is an anonymous song contest, so no revealing or hinting as your entry until the voting period begins. -_-

 

The confirmation window will be open for a full week, so you have until Sunday June 23rd 2024 at 23:59 GMT to submit your entry. :heart:

Because it's an anonymous contest, this ensures no bias toward voting for friends.
