January 19, 20251 yr In case my post was badly written. I meant that top 4 looks extremely likely for Forest. I think City has a huge * on them due to possible points deduction and still not sold on them overall. Their next 5-6 prem games are against arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Forest. So we will know soon if they’ll make it(I’m sure a verdict will be reached by the end of that sequence with regards to their charges too)
January 22, 20251 yr Real Valladolid have accused Manchester City of encouraging one of their players to break his contract to force through a move to the Premier League club. Defender Juma Bah told the Spanish club on Tuesday that he intends to terminate his contract, allowing City to sign the player for a much lower fee. City had sent a request to Valladolid earlier in the day asking to begin negotiations over a permanent deal for the 18-year-old, Valladolid said in a statement.
January 23, 20251 yr With the Haaland contract and all these signings, I think we can safely assume City have gotten away scott free.
January 25, 20251 yr Okay I take back the Forest top 4 stuff they got hammered 5-0 today and interestingly in doing so Bournemouth close within 4 points of Forest with a much better GD now. The top 4 race is very unusual this season
January 25, 20251 yr Forest will fall away, no way were they keeping up that freak form with such an average squad.
January 25, 20251 yr Author Forest will fall away, no way were they keeping up that freak form with such an average squad. It depends. They didn't have Hudson-Odoi today who is a HUGE miss for them. Some good teams in an around there and it looks like 5th might get it this season too. It will be close.
January 26, 20251 yr A lot depends on what happens with these charges. Chelsea look to be a mess suddenly so if Man City get a points deduction it leaves the door open for Villa and Bournemouth to push for the 4th/5th spot too
January 28, 20251 yr Southampton only have 1 win so far in the league, if they don't win again they will match Derby's record from 2007/08 of the fewest wins in a Premier League season. Does anyone think they will get another win?
January 28, 20251 yr I can't see it myself, they're terrible on every level. The only teams I could see them getting anything against are the fellow promoted teams but they play them both away so if anything these matches will be seen as bankers for the other teams.
January 28, 20251 yr Yeah I also think it's really hard to see them getting another win this season. Even when they get themselves into winning positions they throw it away so quickly. To be on 6 points at this stage of the season is shocking as well, already 11 points adrift of safety the way that they are going they could be officially relegated by end of March.
January 28, 20251 yr Must be painful being a Saints fan, they already hold records as being the only team to lose a home game by 9 goals and 2 separate matches by 9 goals, now they're gonna be the team with the lowest points total ever.
January 28, 20251 yr They should never have been promoted, felt with the players they had Martin underachieved if anything last season and the writing was on the wall quickly this year. As opposed to Ipswich who may still go down they have a team of championship and league one players but look a lot more like a team at least!
February 1, 20251 yr Forest bounced back from a 5-0 defeat by beating Brighton 7-0 big statement and important for the GD. Top 4 back on
February 1, 20251 yr Southampton only have 1 win so far in the league, if they don't win again they will match Derby's record from 2007/08 of the fewest wins in a Premier League season. Does anyone think they will get another win? lol. Southampton obviously must have read my post from a few days ago. That's one record avoided, 3 more points to get past the lowest ever points total now!
February 1, 20251 yr Author Forest were superb against Brighton. That Top 4/5 race is wide open, Newcastle getting beat today against a team they probably should be beating at home too. Big game tomorrow now with Arsenal vs City!
February 1, 20251 yr Yeah selling Almiron when you have a paper thin squad seems a bad move by Newcastle. Forest look in much better shape now. Liverpool pretty much sealed the title today I’d say too. Salah is just that difference in close games other teams don’t have
February 2, 20251 yr Author Some of it is a mental thing, but it's also hard if the players are not used to it. European football is great, but if teams that are not used to getting European footnall start playing European football, it usually has a big impact domestically, see Newcastle and Brighton for recent examples. Part of it is the squads, but I also imagine for players mentally it's a shift from being in the zone every day rather than taking it fairly easy during the week if there is not a domestic midweek fixture. I suspect Bournemouth & Forest will suffer the same fate too.
February 2, 20251 yr Villa got to the conference league semi final last season so they should be used to multiple games
