The single is indeed called "Lucky" and it's expected to be released on July 12, while her album is due out on August 30 based of the dates included in the second Instagram post.

Interesting. My favourite song by her is 'You Should Be Sad', 'Austin' by Dasha reminded me a lot of it recently.

The teasing of this on social media is on POINT. Hopefully after less commercial music as of recent, this can get her back into the spotlight - using Lucky by Britney as a sample is inspired too.

I am excited but the chorus is literally just a cover of Britney Spears, I hope there's more to it than that! The promo has been excellent so far.

Her voice does not sound good at all on this, sounds very Anne Marie 2002 in some parts

It's nothing new - we're just old enough now that we know the originals!

I quite admire the audacity of the samples, didn't expect to hear Angel Of Mine in there too. I quite like it, it feels nostalgic.

I disagree - 20 years ago it wasn't all that common to interpolate older songs, now it seems to be every other song samples or interpolates something, as if we've run out of original musical ideas.

I think this is rly cute, a nice little 00s acoustic-y bop, but lifting the entire chorus feels pretty lazy! It's kinda giving 'couldn't come up with a good enough chorus on my own', having said that I will be streaming x

Exactly this! It's every other bloody song now and it's tired. This is literally lifting the chorus of Britney's song and changing "she's" to "I'm". Groundbreaking.

 

Plus in most cases I'll probably know the originals regardless lol

This isn't meant to be some huge banger, for what it is it's really well done. Is it my favourite project she's ever done? Not at all but given what she's been dealing with in her personal life this makes a lot of sense. The video is particularly special, the part where she removes her wig actually made me cry :')
