A really disappointing move from ITV but not at all surprising.

 

The past 24 hours have been pretty toxic for the show:

 

- the editing out of Ali’s pro-Palestine shirt by ITV

- Marcello briefly putting his hands around Lily’s neck on the livestream (an uncomfortable watch…)

- Lily and Nathan plotting to spill wine on Hanah’s bed (haven’t seen any footage of this but it’s being discussed on social media)

- Ali’s sexuality being invalidated on Late & Live (because “she’s been with a man before”) and this fan’s experience of being in that audience:

This is so toxic for the show, I don't think c5 ever got this controversial aside from maybe Roxanne Pallet and aside from how they handled the show they were always quick to eject/warn housemates (Bear, Helen Wood, Roxanne, Biggins being antisemitic, Kayleigh/Lotsn being violent). I dont think a lot would've happened under them or C4 it's so gross.

Someone please send me a DM when this is back on C4/C5. Big Brother is one of my favourite shows and although ITV did okay last year there isn’t any way to come back from this.
