Sorry, but I don't think there has been any English manager (yet) to handle handle this squad, unless they put results over process.

A lot of controversy today about the fact he’s not English. Obviously you prefer an English person but there really wasn’t a huge pool to choose from. There has been Sven & Capello so not quite getting the big reaction.

I bet all the people moaning about it not being an English manager were pining for either Pep or Klopp so wouldn't take much notice of that opinion.

 

I can already see the back page of Bild in Germany when they get beat in a tournament.

Suppose it shouldn’t matter but what say if Germany played England in the World Cup final, would Tuchel not be conflicted? Suppose in the euros JF Hasselbaink was on the coaching staff and celebrated when Watkins scored the winner then realised where he was when he seen the Dutch bench 🤣

And of course we played Sweden in the 2002 WC under Sven. You'd think they'd put allegiances aside in the wake of their duty but that would certainly be an intriguing scenario!

I almost forgot Tuchel was the England manager. It feels like he has been in hibernation for the past few months!

It's very much the calm before the storm with him, the England manager job is probably one of a few in World football that is guaranteed to not end well. Even Sir Alf Ramsey who won the World Cup for England had a torrid time by the end of his tenure.

Was a good game for England. He criticised Rashford and foden after the game for lacking impact. So far Tuchel seems to be creating a good ethos
