God this love triangle is excruciating, it’s an odd situation because all characters involved have merit by themselves but this is bringing out the worst in all 3 of them. The fact that Josh and jasmine have the history they do and Josh is the well adjusted child and Jasmine has the trauma I think is enough, and then the fact Jasmine is the Slater side and Josh is the Trueman side, I think that kind of family “saga” for want of a better word is what Eastenders does so well and that would have been enough.

Maybe this is “too woke” but also I don’t see why they feel the need to do a love triangle like this for a bi character like… as if they need to constantly prove in every scene Oscar is in that he’s bi. He can’t just… be bi? Turning what could be an emotional and transformative storyline for Zoe (not that Michelle Ryan could manage that lmfao) into a sensationalist love triangle is shit really. Also why do both of Max’s children have to be cheating and just end up like their dad?

But Zoe finally having a scene with at least one child klaxon

Yea they're not really doing much to help change opinions on negative bisexual stereotypes with Oscar, they're just playing into the idea that bisexuals will never be satisfied with one partner.

Diane and Tameka were spotted filming scenes at Stansted, Denise was in a wheelchair with a scarf around her head being pushed by Kim so it looks like this is going to be a fast progressing storyline for Denise.

Gobsmacked at Zoe actually appearing. I honestly thought they’d mark the 20th anniversary of everything she was banging on about all last year without her even being mentioned…

Josh is actually coming off really bad in this storyline and Oscar not much better. These aren’t some star crossed lovers, they know what they’re doing and have made informed choices to get here. Jasmine is the only one in the dark about anything. I was actually relieved that Kat has found out already. Hopefully it’s over soon.

And can they please agree on the pronunciation of Micah?

Yolande is definitely saying it correctly

That’s what I thought but it’s sloppy no one on set has taught Josh or Oscar how to say it.

Christ that Josh/Oscar reveal was cringey af. I did like Jasmine in the ep though, there is a lot of depth to her character it's just a shame it's taken a whole year to get there.

Mini Mo upstaging Michelle Ryan on the acting ability front tbh

I get Josh is riddled with guilt but he could have at least waited until the next day to ruin another birthday for his twin 🫠

I actually enjoyed Zoe in today’s episode. It was nice to see her seem like a human character and have some happy moments-something we really didn’t get from her before Christmas. It’d be nice to see her properly involved in the fall out of this.

The affair seems so unnecessary though. I like the scenes of Jasmine and Josh bonding, I don’t think they need a sensational affair story right off the bat.

Ian and Chelsea were great in their scenes.

Josh is becoming quite unlikeable quite quickly. I wonder if he has a darker side that’s been hidden?

I think it makes sense given he seems to be this golden child who’s never told no, he’s coming across as spoilt and selfish and not really arsed about how it made Jasmine feel as much as he was about losing his boy toy. And again as I’ve said a few times, I think that discord between him and Jasmine was more than enough to be interesting for them and the Slaters without this love triangle.

Like Jasmine and Zoe, however slowly, have bonded over their trauma and struggles, they could show that Josh struggles to relate and bond with them. Obviously having a decent upbringing and still having Sandra, he didn’t need a mother figure or a family unit, so they’re interesting opposites and playing on that would be something you don’t see all that often. I suppose by not showing Zoe and Josh they’re inferring they haven’t bonded or Zoe is giving him time but we’re just not seeing it which it crazy given how much they shoved Zoe wanting to find her kids in our faces.

Do you think she’ll get a coherent storyline before she goes?

Thinking about it, shouldn’t she have been in it this week sticking the boot into Ian?

There was no plan for this character. I think they just wanted a meme machine and it flopped.

We still have the Vanessa phone-in moment from whoever's genius idea it was to impersonate her

I am so pleased they decided not to continue with the Bea character.

I've read so much dislike for her, and seen very little praise, and I groaned inside every time she appeared on screen.

Just a big miss all round really.
